PSP homebrew - Image 1While those who've downloaded the new 6.20 have a new Digital Comics Reader to try out, the rest of the pack are still a bit hesitant in making the jump forward. You've read the official changelog, but it appears that what Sony didn't say out loud was that a previous exploit has now been patched. That said, FreePlay releases the PSP Go exploit that he's been working on, ensuing a new episode in the homebrew scene drama.

PSP WeekendWarrior - Image 1Let's leave the firmware talk for the other PSP Weekend Warrior - we've got big games coming up and you don't wanna miss those updates now, do you? Try out that new Comics Reader on your PSP with a few free issues, or you can check out a magazine that you can use as a shield - and I'm not talking about a cheap cosplay getup. Lots of big upcomers also got some updates this week, check them out and stay in-the-know.

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1So, what transpired this week on the PSP blog? Well, Sony seems to be sending feelers out for new PSP Go colors, Nate Drake and others are getting the Pinball treatment, riskbreaking's finally making its way to the PSN, and Adhoc Party has been confirmed for a US release. Oh, and you can now get a PSP Go for cheap if you happen to have a PlayStation Credit Card. All that and more in the PSP Weekend Warrior.

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1Ah. First off let me just say that this Weekend Warrior is a particularly short one. But hey, we still heard some good PSP news over the week. Konami's finally announced that they're working on English demos for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and for those that can read Japanese there's a God Eater demo on the way. Best news so far this week for me, though, is BlazBlue PSP. Hit the jump for this week's PSP Weekend Warrior edition.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1Do you use cheat devices for your games? Don't be shy. I'm not one to judge. Just want to say that if you do, then this was a good week to have a homebrew-capable PSP. We got updates for two different cheat-related apps in the past seven days. Incidentally, if you don't have a homebrew-enabled PSP yet, then the new 5.03GEN-B for HEN which was also released this week is for you. More homebrew news and updates after the jump!

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1Things were pretty quiet on the PSP blog this week. Some good news still managed to filter through, though: There's a new Monster Hunter entry in the works, Kojima Productions is still cranking out the demos to tweak Peace Walker even further, and there's  new LocoRoco game out. Of course, you gotta take the good with the bad: we also got news of Fireteam Bravo 3 getting delayed this week.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1The weekend's here but there's still no 5.03GEN-B for those who want to put some homebrew in their PSP-3000s thanks to more unforeseen bugs. Don't you just hate when that happens? Too bad too, since there was a nice crop of homebrew apps and games that came out in the past seven days. No worries, though -- the team behind the GEN firmware is still hard at work on a release. Hit the jump for a glimpse at the rest of the week in homebrew.

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1Yes, the PSP Go is still making headlines. The problem is, the main one we heard this week wasn't exactly flattering. The Go has been getting a mostly lukewarm reception since its launch earlier this month, and the trend continues in Australia. There's a silver lining, though: overall PSP sales have reportedly gone up since the Go hit retail. Sony most probably have software sales to thank for that. Oh, and maybe the Go's making people buy PSP-3000s. Just speculating. For the facts, hit the jump and check out this week's PSP Weekend Warrior.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1Due to some unforeseen bugs mucking up the works, custom firmware 5.50GEN-C at the start of the week turned out to be more underwhelming than we hoped. Good thing Team GENyUS was able to roll out a new revision a few days after, with another update launching in the days that followed. 5.50GEN-C may have set the week off on a sour note, but thanks to 5.50GEN-D things still turned out for the best. Read all about what else happened in the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior.

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1Hideo Kojima is one busy man, and it looks like he will be one for the years to come. He has two different games (three if you count Lords of Shadow) under his supervision right now, but he already has his eye on what he'll be doing after MGS Rising and his personal pet project, MGS Peace Walker. He also has a lot of downright weird ideas sometimes. Case in point: singing and screaming weapons in Peace Walker. Say what?
