PSP WiFile Transfer - Image 1Luiz Pestana has informed us that he has just updated his FTP server program, WiFile Transfer. He admits that is just a small update to his homebrew app, but nonetheless still useful.

Luiz's program is actually based on ZX-81's PSPFTPD for fw1.5, except that with the WiFile Transfer, 3.0 OE users will now also be able to join in on the remote-file-transfer fun (sans the cables of course). So far there's only one known bug in WiFile Transfer: "Exiting without close FTP connections make homebrew freeze."

Changelog:

  • Improved Clock Speed (333 Mhz)
  • Improved Transfer Speed (15%)
  • Added "Work Only" Firmware Validation
For installation instructions and other essential whatnots, make sure you check out the readme included in the download below. Have fun!

Download: [WiFile Transfer v0.02]

I get over twice the upload speed now! I used to only get around 150 KB upload and now I get around 350 KP

 » Great app...

Really good app....very simple and does what you need it to do.

One suggestion....it would be nice to have a default network connection option so you wouldn't have to select it every time you launch the app.

And regarding the post above, you don't have to prepare your pc at all. This is an FTP server and requires an FTP client just like any other...

 » ohhhhh.....

is this to transfer pc->psp using pc, or is there a user mode in psp as well, like i can access my psp w/ pc, but can i get the pc from my room......

   by rc_square24 - 2007-02-14
 » heres how

For those who are wondering how to get this working, run the program and connect to your access point/router for your wifi connection. your PC should also be conected to the same router and you dont need software on your pc installed.

after you slect the connection and it saids connected, itll say connected! [ftp://XXX/XXX/X/XXX]

open up a internet broswer and enter that address ftp://XXX.XXX.X.XXX and you should see the files on your MS and be able to download or upload files.

hope this helps and if anyone know of a better way, please :)

 » Hmmm

Well,
I got my system running in 3.03 kernal and started the app.
I connected to my access point but didn't get back a full
address.

I got: ...0...2...

This is incorrect.

There are no other options for me to select and It didn't
provide me with a functional FTP address.

FTP://...0...2... failed in I.E. as expected, due to it not
being a complete address.

Q. What did I do wrong?
A. Nothing at all, the app just doesn't work for me.

For some it does but not for all, too bad really, I've been
waiting for a Good developer to spring a good functional
WiFi File Transfer App on us but, it just ain't today for me.

this is a great app. if u have fw 3.xx oe, just place this app in the game3xx n it should work. then, once u connect n it says connected, go to ur browser n type what it says.. e.g. (ftp://192.xxx.xxx.xxx)

thanks luiz pestana, this is a great app! keep it comming!!

To all those idiots that say the app just connects and sits there:

ITS SUPPOSED TO JUST SIT THERE

This application is used to run an FTP server on your psp dammit.

All you have to do is keep it connected, check the ip address, type that IP address on your favorite browser or Windows explorer and walah! you can now see your psp's mem card files and upload/download remotely.

wow, great app. does exactally what is says it will do. IT RUNS A "SERVER" ON UR PSP AND YOU CAN ACCESS FILES ON YOUR PSP FROM YOUR COMPUTER. not the other way around.... and the ppl who said "Connectiong to access point (O:CANCEL)...0...2..." that is it starting up the wifi connection to your wireless network.. let it go for a sec, depending on your wireless signal, and THEN another line will give you the IP address to connect!

Thats the anwser I needed to know but, still no dice.
I've let it sit for 45 min. and nothing ever showed up,
nothing! No IP Address and I do have wireless and it recognizes my home network.

I'm no noob, just it doesn't happen to work for me is all.

"Anyone having problems read whats been said here and make sure to to a look at the readme."

None of the previous posts address the issues and the readme has no file allocation/file extention to read it and checking network places showed no changes/new connections and or network places.

Internet browsers such as IE have only minimal FTP support. You need a dedicated FTP client to be able to upload to servers. FileZilla is a very nice, open source one. Download it here:

No I have not tried to recreate the network connection via PC or PSP, shouldn't need to though. I'm also on 303OEb, perhaps your right, maybe we need to be on 310OE for this app to work?

Re: Wicked Insider (Unregistered) - 2007-02-15
 » wes

Neither WiFi Transfer v0.01 or v0.02 worked for me and NetHost via IRShell didn't work either. I'm about to give up on any app promissing WiFi File Transfering because none of them ever seem to work like others claim they do. Doesn't make sense to me, I'm not new to hacking the PSP and I've done alot of hacking aside from the PSP. Nobody here seems to know what the problem to our issue is and or at lest addressing the issue to resolve it.

i was really just looking for something that would transfer faster than usb1, since i don't have usb2, and the V0.01 of this app is no faster.

yeah but at lest you got v.0.01 to work for you, Didn't work for me. I'd settle for usb 1.0 speeds via wireless if I could even get that far.
