Wild Arms 4 - PS2The Wild Arms series turns 10 this year and Sony Computer Entertainment celebrated the anniversary at an event yesterday where it announced a brand new addition for the series that will come to their latest console currently available on the market - the PSP. The title, Wild Arms XF, follows the theme of previous Wild Arms titles as an RPG game set with influence from the Wild West and native American tradition.

If you've never heard of Wild Arms, the first in the series was released way back in 1996 for the original Playstation. If you've never heard of the game it's probably because Squaresoft's Final Fantasy VII was released at the same time, dominating the RPG market. However, the original game was so successful that 3 sequels went into production with the last in the series, Wild Arms 4 due for release this October in Europe.

No details have been released on the game, nor has a release date but you should expect to see some kind of press release or a group of screenshots out soon.

I love Wild Arms I must say that I'm still upset that 2 came out and it was a different game instead of a sequal.
There still good games though.
I'll definately buy this.

Funny how you would put up the cover for Wild Arms 4 which stops the serie's tradition of having wild west influences. Wild Arms 3 would have been a better cover. Plus Alter Code F is just a rework of the first one so I can see why pauridius left it out.

You know what would be awesome? If they ported one of the Shadow Hearts games or better yet if they made a totally new one for the PSP!

 » Wild Arms ...

Yeah I remember back in 1996/1997ish or so when it was released and I bought it. I was anticipating the release of Final Fantasy VII and Wild Arms tied me over. It is a fun game. And no they did not make one on SNES.
