Wild Arms
veterans will tell you that Wild Arms XF is the first game in the series to get the strategy touch. According to producer and scenario writer Akifumi Kaneko, this had been planned from the beginning.

That's not the only thing that Media.Vision had planned for their strategy RPG, as Kaneko shared more about the new direction that Wild Arms XF is taking in a recent interview. An avid fan of western movies, Kaneko stated that Media.Vision wanted to add a greater level of depth to Wild Arms XF, as well as create a new concept for the series itself.

The team also decided for a faster-paced story element - something that could not be done if the game had remained a pure RPG. Speaking of the story element, Kaneko said that there is currently no intention to link the stories of the various games in the Wild Arms series together.

Kaneko didn't rule out the possibility of a that happening in the future, however:

The Wild ARMs series has grown so much over the years that there are many people involved in creating the series now. If everyone agrees on creating a backstory linking all the previous titles together and evolving it into one enormous universe, then that very well may happen.

It would be great to see a new Wild ARMs series created by a new team of creators.

Kaneko also discussed a number of other Wild Arms XF nitty-gritty, such as the HEX system, the cast of characters and Easter eggs. If you'd like more information, simply click on the source link below and you'll be taken to the full interview.

XSEED are only publishers for the US, Media Vision are the developers.
