Are you one of those fortunate few who owns more than one console? If so, then you probably know how much of a hassle it could be to transfer between consoles if your TV set doesn't have enough inputs.

Here's something to make your life a whole lot easier: the XCM Multi-console component cable, version 3. The component cable allows your TV set to connect to all your platforms at once (assuming you only have one of each of course).

The component cable can connect with the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, the PS2, and the original Xbox. It can even connect to the PSP Slim. For simplicity's sake, it has a switch that can quickly change which device your TV will accept input from.

The XCM Multi-Console Component cable Version 3 will be available some time this week. Here are the specs of the component cable, for those interested:
  • Fully Compatible with Xbox 360, Wii, PS3/PS2, PSP Slim, Xbox.
  • Built in switch prevents interference of other consoles
  • High quality shielded cable.
  • Support Component Signal (Stereo Function)
  • High Quality and High Speed for Transfer Signal.
  • Support Dolby Prologic.
  • Support DTS 5.1 Channel System.
  • Support DOLBY Digital and Surround Sound
  • Support Stereo Sound
  • Support Optical Signal on Xbox 360
  • Compatible with Surround Receiver or Integrated Amplifier
  • Support CRT, Plasma, LCD or any HDTV System
  • Support D2 (480i/480P); (720i/720P) & D4 (1080i/ 1080P) technology.

 » uhhm.. cool?

this is cool and all but.. the switch is too close and you can't appropriately fit all the consoles with the length it provides at the same time. plus you would have to go behind it each time to change the switch

 » hmm

agreed. good idea, but poor execution. I have a couple component switch boxes that I use, but this would be nice since I have some systems that I don't have component cables for yet. But all these systems are in separate "sections" of my entertainment center, so not only would the length be too short (this thing assumes all are sitting next to each other from the looks of it), but the switch would be behind the actual center.

 » Nice, but...

...But they never have these for anything other than component cables. I run everything into my computer monitor, since it's hella nicer than my piece o' ***** TV, but I never see things for people in my situation. Oh well, back to my massive tangle of wires I go.
