Wave screensaver - Image 1

This isn't really a homebrew application and doesn't do anything to your PSP at all; but it's PSP-related and we have a feeling that you're going to like this one. It's a Windows screensaver made by agentorange that looks just like the PSP's XMB, and it really does look the part! The waves move across your screen just like the real thing and for those of you that like to add a little bit of PSP authenticity to your PC then this should add the final touch.

There are currently eight colors included with this screensaver and at the moment they cycle randomly, but this is an intial beta so if all goes well, agentorange might update this screensaver to include an option to choose which XMB color you would like to display.

Until then we'll have to do with this release, and as the readme states, once you have extracted the files you can get a preview of the screensaver by double-clicking the file or you can install it by right clicking then selecting the 'install' menu option.

It's just like having your PSP on your PC...but without the icons.

well i found my new screensaver, this kicks ass :)

 » aww...

the screen shot made me think it was transparent, so it would show what u were doing right before the screen saver kicked in, but it's not... :(
I think it would be better if it didn't flash to white in the beginning, didn't keep zooming back after a couple minutes, and had some configurable options.
For now, it's a nice beta, but it could use some work, not saying that I could've done any better...lol

 » Project.

Last year, I was thinking of making a project like this. What I wanted to do was make an XMB for my computer, and put it on my desktop. It would have had links to my pictures, videos, games and such. I never found the time for this project nor do I have the ability. I had no idea where to get started.

This however is pretty cool. But what would be better is if this could be on the desktop instead of just a screensaver. This will be my screensaver, but a full XMB or just this wave as a desktop background will be awesome.

 » This is stupid...

I want a new SNES emulator for psp instead (SnesPSP_TYL v0.4.2 is getting REALLY OLD). (It's really slow too.)

If you think this is so stupid then why waste your time posting here. Go take up space somewhere else.

   Re: Datnizzle (Unregistered) - 2007-02-27
 » Really?

Mine runs fine. Maybe you're too dumb to use framskip, or turn off the graphic accelerator. But whatever. When(if) a new snes emulator is NEEDED someone will make one.

 » well..

Well, the waves move a bit fast, the colors are nice, the waves could use more space of the screen, they seem to be staying just in the middle.

Oh it would be nice to have it as a desktop wallpaper to, if u can somehow do that, cause ive been looking for one.

Now to make a PS3 looking one rofl.

 » info

There could be one for the Desktop Wallpaper,

If you remake it in to a Flash Media (.swf) file,

then make it be displayed in a html (.html) file,

then set the .html file as your Desktop Wallpaper,

and that's all they need to do.

 » Very nice!

I actually like the speed, though it would be nice if that was selectable with color as well. Very cool, this is my new screensaver (just in case, it was nothing before, just black -- so that means a lot to me :P).

Nice job, and thanks!

 » blue screen on vista

Running this on vista gave me a BSOD and my pc rebooted maybe it's my old ati9250 (no ati drivers only vistas default) maybe it's not compatible... :(

i'm running vista rtm and it runs fine for me, i'm using 6800gt with latest drivers

 » Funky!

Very cool screen saver, although I have one request. Is it possible to make it span multiple monitors? At work I have two monitors for development and such and currently the screen saver just plops it self bang in the middle of the two screens, taking up only half of the total width.

Rock on!

 » nice!

Great screensaver. One of the best I've seen in a while. Keep it up!

   by .. (Unregistered) - 2007-02-27
 » ..

its ok...looks great.. but i refuse to use any screensaver that doesn't actually help against image burn,

whilst it looks very nice where it just fades the windows so doesn't really serve any purpose whatsoever

i'll stick to plasma from rss, quality screensaver if you actually want a screensaver to do what the name suggests

a later revision where there are settings to have a changing colour background would be good perhaps :)

   by abjam (Unregistered) - 2007-02-27
 » awesome

My new favorite screensaver, very nice, looking forwards to future releases.

   by hi (Unregistered) - 2007-02-27
» this is a good start on an app

I think it should be a desktop background though, instead of a screen saver. We should be able to pick from different colors. This thing should last longer than 2 minutes before it goes back to the desktop. I also noticed it moves very fast at first then goes really slow after that. Hopefully you can make these improvements to a really cool background.
