Ó

GoodbyeYoshihiro, unarguably the most controversial person in the scene, has decided to leave the PSP scene in light of the accumulation of recent and past happenings. He's so controversial, that the second his name is brought up on our boards, we have about 11 pages in under an hour relating to the topic, of which had just resulted in a closure of our discussion thread.

Yoshihiro has been credited for the PSP Version Changer (widely used before Devhook and UMD Launchers were evident). He also contributed (credited for at least) to the first flashing application for the PSP, the first button swapper, the first UMD game launcher (via Memory Stick Pro Duo), proposed the first downgrader method for 2.0+ (largely responsible for the creation of the 2.0 downgrader). Many will argue that Yoshihiro had little to do with these creations, but this can not be entirely proven. The majority of the scene has a huge dislike/hatred towards this single man, and as a result he has decided to leave.

Many of you will rejoice in this news, many of you may feel sad, many wil feel frustrated at this man, but let's try to keep such comments to ourselves. We are not here to discredit this man anymore than many have already done, this is a goodbye post to one of the scene's longest members and contributors. Before Yoshihiro leaves however, he will be releasing a new build of his PSX emulator in which he will include the source (very large argument about the source for previous version due to his bad reputation). Please keep the comments civil and just say goodbye to the scene's most controversial person!

Bye Yoshi, you're still one of the best PSP-Dev's in my book.

Have a good life outside of PSP scene, and I hope to see you back here some day.

Sorry to hear that, you will surly be missed. As for those who have problems with the guy, I hope you are happy to have such a major contributor walk away from something he is so great at doing.

You know, you contributed to this scene alot, more than most flamers added together, EVEN IF you stole the code or something, you still did alot, I thank you for everything you done, either good or bad, goodbye, it is a sad day for anyone for a dev to leave our scene.

Poor flamers.. less people for them to flame on... O WELL they can flame eachother and die..

Finally!... Hope he doesn't come back. He only stole other people work, so now, at least we'll have a cooler "scene".

 » Yoshino, A bittersweet leave

His retirement of homebrew is bittersweet, but I will remember him for one thing: Trying to screw up our PSP's Flash1 Drive. I do not know what possesed him to do it but he should not have done that. His leave is bittersweet he has contributed many things that are positive but like Zidane, his farewell was more harmfull to our PSPs because of that Flash1 drive. Anyways we will miss you, but if you ever do comeback, please don't try to mess up our PSP.

 » What?

Why would anyone rejoice at this news? I don't read the forums, but you mean to tell me some people are such jerks that they think a guy who spends tons of his free time coding software to make your PSP better isn't a good thing?

   by FreePlay - 2006-10-10
» I hereby retract my 'jump'

Dear QJ:
Please retract my 'jump' for this article, as a result of the following part of the article:

"largely responsible for the creation of the 2.0 downgrader"

No. No, no no. Wrong.

» Love him or hate him

You can love the man or hate him it doesn't really matter to me, I know for a fact he can do so much more than I can and I respect him for it, and I don't know if the rumors can be proven or not but any loss to the PSP community hurts me and I hope he reconsiders.

 » A Passionist

While Yoshihiro in my eyes was a passionist, I had high hopes for him to do the ps1 emulator, Yoshihiro I hope you re -consider your decision, or at least, I hope to see you in the ps3 H.B scene. I understand why you left, and I would leave too, sometimes people don't know what they have lost, until its gone.

Don't expect high quality H.B without Yoshihiro, we truely lost a gifted man.

 » QJ Is To Blame

QJ really needs to clamp down on people posting malicious and hateful comments towards homebrew developers because this isn't the first time a dev has left the scene and it won't be the last. All QJ needs to do is only allow comments from registered users to be posted and ban anyone that gets out of line ("First Post!" people included). After that, I GUARANTEE the scene will be much more friendly and you'll see less trash talking and fewer developers leaving.

Honestly, I read the posts here sometimes and it looks like f'ing 10 year olds fighting with the comments being posted.

» Do you know him?? NO, YOU DON'T!!! SO STOP PICKING AT HIM!!!

Why flaming him???
You guys don't even know him....

Too Bad he's leaving
There were other solutions to solve this but... life goes on

See Ya, Yoshi
