Ó

If there was any doubt in the minds of the people that ZX-81 was the most hard-working homebrew developer, it can be squashed now. Because you see, ZX81 has released updates to three emulators in a span of a few hours! The emulators in question are PSPZX81, Sinclair ZX 81 emulator; PSPXTI, a TI-92 calculator emulator; and PSPX48, an HP48 calculator emulator.

Here's what's new in each of them:

PSPX48PSPX48 v1.0.6 (HP48 calculator emulator):

  • Save state is now done using zlib so ram file size is smaller and as a consequence, it is much faster to save.
  • Bug fix (may display strange characters in the emulator menu)
ZX81 says that Hewlett Packard started allowing HP48 BIOSes to be downloaded off the net sometime in 2000. Although they're needed, ZX81 won't be offering them with his package since they're not GPL licensed.

PSPXTIPSPXTI v1.0.8 (TI-92 Calculator emulator):
  • Save state is now done using zlib so ram file size is smaller and as a consequence, it is much faster to save.
  • Bug fix (may display strange characters in the emulator menu)
In the case of this emulator, you need to own a real TI92 calculator if you want to download its BIOS. Two versions are included, one for FW 1.5 and one for 2.XX.

PSPZX81PSPZX81 v1.0.2 (Sinclair ZX 81 emulator):
  • Add speed limiter option
  • Add background change color option
  • Add .81 as a valid program file extension
Manuals or documentation for the ZX 81 can be downloaded from here.

As always, all three of these emulators have been released under the GPL license, so the source code is bundled. Below are the download links for all three of them.

 » now how bout a TI 84?

What we need is a TI 84 silver emulator, as it seems to be most popular and easiest to use.
