RARAnonymous Tipster, a member of our own forums, has just completed work on a new version of his extraction utility plugin for use with iR Shell. The application now has support for .rar files, including RAR3 format. This useful utility makes using your PSP easier and gives you the option to extract files you download or transfer to your PSP without having to put them on your PC to decompress the file first.

Here are some of the new or updated features included in this release:

Rar support including the RAR3 format
Password protected Rar support
Directory browsing for file and Dir selection
Press square over ZIP/RAR file: or Extract To
__SCE__ to kxploit renamer (mainly for iRShell users)
Auto-detects whether launched from iRShell or as standalone

Installation:
2.0+/Standalone: Install as regular application
1.5/iRShell: go into zipplugin folder, and copy OSKGraphics folder and EBOOT into X:/IRSHELL/EXTAPP/APP4 and X:/IRSHELL/EXTAPP/APP5. Boot iRShell and configure the settings so that zip are associated with APP4 and rar are associated with APP5.

Other:
Switch between RAR and ZIP with trigger buttons (rar menu will not do zips and vice versa).
__SCE__ to kxploit will list folders in PSP/GAME and allow you to click any __SCE__ named folder to rename it so that it shows in iRShell App View.

 » Also Standalone

Please note that this version also works as a standalone for 2.0+ firmwares, not just as a plugin.

 » Thank you!

Thank you so very much. I am going to my dad's for the next two months, and he doesn't have a computer. But I can get wireless internet all over town, so this will come in handy for new homebrew. The ZIP alone was nice, but I found a lot of homebrew was RARed.

this is a great plugin, i wsas kinda unsure how to get it werking as a stadalone, but within IRShell its fantastic, now i can use links2 and this to be totally independent of my pc. Isn't this what its all about? Portability? I think so.
Great Going!!!!

 » excellent!

seems irshell will be main player on the 'shell scene'. extendable and the fastest way to run homebrews. all these unusable posix-eyecandies are quite useless...

so, now let's wait for some .mod .txt .pdf plugz!
