IGN had a sit down with Sega producer Mary Caplan to peel back the banana of what is Super Monkey Ball Adventure for PSP, and to let everyone know what it's all about. In the interview they go over the general basic questions of multiplayer, gameplay, how many characters will be playable, and just how the development is really going. SMBA has been in development for 18 months with a work load of 50 people working on the project off and on. The story mode is pretty basic-something about the main monkey falling in love with another monkey. There is the bad monkey who casts darkness over the world to separate the two and it's your job to bring happiness back to the world. On terms of gameplay, SMBA will have you moving the ball around with the analog stick but only one world, Spirit Realm, will you be able to control the actual ground's tilting. Remember this is an adventure so you're going to be controlling the ball more than the ground. Throughout the interview they talk about having 50 playable characters, a party mode for up to four players, and the five worlds you'll be exploring in.

Super Monkey Ball Adventure will be expected at retail store on June 27 and this game has not yet been rated. Here are 6 screenshots for you to get your Monkey Ball fix on.

Ó

Critically acclaimed Def Jam: Fight for New York was actually quite good, and was considered a huge smash hit for the PS2 and Xbox back in 2004. It features over 30 real world rappers and hip-hop artists, executing great fighting moves along with cool customization and great soundtrack.

Fast-Forward to present time and EA Games is now reviving the same game to the PSP. They are adding two player and ad-hoc multiplayer modes, a whole new storyline, four new venues, an unmentioned new character, and all new environmental hot spots. Not only that, developers have introduced a very much needed camera fix-up that brings the action up close. Over 180 different maneuvers (including some awesome ground moves) are also now available for you to smack your opponent around with.

EA also made some changes on the original one-two-three knockdown combo. With the previous version, a simple three-hit combo would knock the opponent out, now it has been modified and the same attack would only make the character stumble or fall back, making the game more challenging to more mature gamers.

Rated M for Mature, Def Jam: Fight for New York-The Takeover is scheduled to be released on June 20 for PSP system. Meanwhile, here are twelve screenshots for you to look at to minimize (or multiply) your craving.

PopcOrn DeVil in our forums today released a fun "mindless" LUA game called Button Masher Endurance V1. The way you play is two people hold each end of the PSP and one person uses Triangle and X and the other person uses the Up and Down buttons on the D-pad. You start out with 2,000 points and every time you hit a button your opponents score goes down by 5. This is what PopcOrn DeVil had to say:

"My first piece of homebrew for the PSP ever apart from mods, Button Masher Endurance so please don't tease it. Coded in LUA so you'll need to download Lua Player to play it.

"What to add:
Sounds. (Need someone to PM some suitable sounds for when you press a button, you will be included in credits)

Something that happens once a player loses/wins. (Need help with, 1win and 2win are the pics I was going to use.)

In game music. (Need help also)

Any I can think or get suggested"

This game requires the latest version of LUA Player to run.

Capcom has announced yet another collection of classics called Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded. This collection will include 15 classics such as Street Fighter II, Commando, and Ghouls 'n' Ghosts. The most exciting feature is that Capcom is taking a page from the DS' book by being able to play ad-hoc on one copy of the UMD. They will also include game sharing, and you will be able to customize the screen setting and controls to your liking. You will be able to earn credits for an in-game slot machine that doles out things such as concept art, secret codes, and gameplay tips.

Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded is set for release in North America in the fourth quarter of the year.

Ó

The OutRun series has been a fun standard in the arcades and was a luke warm hit with the Xbox when it was released back in 2004 with OutRun 2. The new game, OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast, will see 30 locations, PS2 and PSP connectivity to unlock special cars and courses, and selecting your own soundtracks. Heart Attack Mode will also be returning which is a big feature as Marty says. Heart Attack Mode is where you're driving the open-ended course to the time limit, the passenger will frequently request certain stunts and actions. These requests, carried out through marked sections of the course, can include passing cars, drifting around bends, driving through marked lanes, knocking over cones, and simply not crashing into anything for as long as possible. If successfully done, the player will receive 'hearts' and, at the end of the request section, be graded on their performance. The player's performance is also graded at the end of the stage. Crashing into the scenery at any time will result in the player losing "hearts".

In the interview, IGN talks multiplayer with Marty saying that the PSP version will, unfortunately, only have ad-hoc functionality but he says it's all about the fun. Right, with the whole two people who will sit next to you to play. The PS2 and Xbox version, on the other hand, will have up to 6 players online. To bad PS2 and PSP players can't play together online like the new World Tour Poker game coming out, that would be pretty sweet. The interview is fairly short and linear and will answer basic questions for you OutRun fans. Here is a piece of the interview and four screenshots of the PSP version to look at.

IGN: How many players can go online with Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast?

MC: You can play with a maximum of 6 players online. Just imagine you and 5 of your friends in Ferrari's racing down a coastal highway, drifting past each other going 100+ miles an hour. Good times if you ask me.

IGN: Are there map editors to create your own stages for other players to play on?

MC: There is no map editor though this feature was discussed at the earlier stages of the project. It may be included in future projects.

IGN: Will any tracks from the previous Outrun games make an appearance in Outrun 2006?

MC: All the original OutRun2 tracks are included. The older titles hold so many fond memories for players and fans alike and they can relive those fond times.

Slicer4ever in our forums today released the alpha version of PSPaintball. PSPaintball is a top down shooter in which well...you shoot paint balls at people and looks pretty fun. This is what he had to say about the things that he is going to improve in the next release:

"Make a walking sequence, make the AI better, get it so you can have more enemies on screen, tons and tons of more stuff. Also note the game is coded in LUA so you will need the latest version of LUA player to run the game."

UPDATE: Download link fixed.

Qwerty in our forums has made a mod for Super Mini Mario V3 call Super Mini Stick Guy and this is what he has to say about it:

"This is my quick mod, inspired by my notebook, I always drew stick figures beating up teachers and going on adventures and stuff. So, my mod, Super Mini Stick Guy! Your are a Super Mini Stick Guy who had his adventures at a high school in Wisconsin.

The things you have to kill are:

A teacher stick guy
A book
Another book
And a bike
And the normal boo from the original version.

Coins = pencils

Goal = a hole in the paper

Note: At the beginning of the game, it may look like your stick guy isn't there, but he is, just the entrance covers him up because they are both black."

Sounds very innovative to me and looks pretty fun too. It also requires the latest version of LUA Player to play this game.
