Yeah yeah, we know Burnout Dominator has been out for more than a week now. But for all those who still haven't grabbed a copy of the game, this post is for you. Up for your viewing pleasure are these two gameplay vids aptly entitled PSP Domination and PSP Takedown, which shows you minutes of nothing but pure handheld gameplay.

As you know, the game boasts of the new Maniac Mode which will require players to take down other players and pull off multiple stunt combos -- simultaneously. Doesn't get more maniacal than that, if ya ask me. So anyway, if you're still lingering on limbo trying to decide whether to get the game or not, watch these gameplay vids and see if they can help you decide.

The Takedown gameplay vid awaits in the full article!

Confession: Trunks has always been one of this writer's biggest videogame character crushes since time immemorial. So it's with ardent zeal that I report to you guys about this Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai Another Road gameplay vid we found which places the focus on my childhood crushie, Trunks. (cue giddy schoolgirl, haha!)

As y'all probably know already, the game it set to conquer your handhelds on March 20, and will feature virtually all the characters you've known and loved in the series. The vid above packs in loads of action but unfortunately the voice-overs can get a bit annoying ("take this! take this! take this!" -- Ugh.), so you might wanna turn the volume a bit down, hehe.

If you want (and if you're a fellow Trunks fanatic), you can also check out the Trunks vs. Majin Buu vid we featured earlier. March 20 isn't that far off guys, so if you're all psyched to get this game, it's best you load up on all the previews and sneak peeks so you won't get scorched when you finally get your hands on the game. Enjoy the vid!

And so another classic game is resurrected on your PSPs. Having previously appeared on several systems with the last being Sega Game Gear in 1992, Alien Syndrome will have you running and gunning down (make a wild guess on this -- yep, ya got it) aliens.

Don't expect to see Ricky and Mary though, as Aileen Harding will be featured as the new Earth Command Trooper. Not to worry, we trust she'll be just as kickass, what with 20 different types of weapons to blast the bejeezus outta the 100 alien species you'll encounter in the game.

And to give you a sneak peek at all this action, we're gonna share with you this Alien Blasting gameplay video we scored via GameTrailers which shows us some of the aliens you'll be fighting off -- from the ginormous creepy crawlies (that multiply when blasted) to the three-legged weird-assed creatures.

But anyway, we'll just let you catch all that yourself, just hit play and you're good to go.

Tales of the World - Image 1

IGN was able to score a quick Q&A with the folks at Namco Bandai regarding their upcoming RPG for the PSP, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. And aside from confirming that the hot title will be heading to U.S. shores, they also reveal more details on essential game aspects like the storyline, battle systems, infrastructure support, ad hoc features, and tons more. The interview is pretty intensive but join us as we try to bring you the gist of the interview, alrighty?
  • Characters: TotW will feature characters from "just about every previous installment out there." So yes, you'll be seeing Chester, Leon, Reid, Senel, and Rain (to name a few) on your handhelds.
  • Storyline: Namco Bandai says that the storyline for TotW will be original and is a new chapter in the "Tales of.." series. And like all other chapters, this one won't be related to previous installments.
  • On the Flex Range LM Battle System: the battle system you saw in Tales of the Abyss will be making a comeback in TotW, with the same free-roaming, fighting game-inspired battle system
  • Ad hoc features: "Players will be able to trade items with one another via ad hoc. However, they will not be able to participate in multiplayer battles this time." (Waaah, still no multiplayer modes!)
  • The US version will not have infrastructure support.
  • On the game's dev status: "The game has been in development for a year and a half now..We had plans to make this for the PSP from the very start."
That's about it guys. But if you wanna check out the full interview yourself, feel free to do so by clicking on the link below.

Crush - Image 1

Sega of America has just revealed new details on their upcoming 2D/3D puzzler, Crush, which lets us take a closer look at some of the interactive elements (read: in-game objects) in the game. Y'all already know that you'll be able to swap in and out of 2D and 3D, right? Well, while you're all psyched up about that, you might wanna warn Danny boy about some of the objects that he'll be using (and crushing) in the game:
  • Solid Blocks - Danny won't be able to crush against these babies. You can stand on them though.
  • Hollow Blocks - the only blocks that Danny can cross via top-down crushing. You can also stand on and walk through them.
  • Ghost Blocks - these appear as holes through the ground in a top-down crush and can be walked and fallen through.
  • Moving Blocks - useful for getting to inaccessible parts of the game levels. Keep an eye out for hidden switches as they sometimes activate these moving blocks.
  • Fragile Blocks - as the name implies, caution is required as they crumble quickly when stepped or stood upon.
  • Boulders - Danny can push these around levels and come in four types: Balls, Rollers, Octaballs and Octorollers. Rollers and Octorollers can be crushed to make 2D tunnels through solid objects.
This is just some sort of guide for you folks, but if you ask me, I think it'd be more fun to go exploring these things on your own and learn about them. And not to worry, you'll soon be able to go and do that 'coz the game will be hitting shelves just a few months from now (June, to be exact). We'll keep you posted for more updates.

CWCheat - Image 1It's been quite a while since pasky13 last updated his PSP homebrew app CWcheat Database Editor. So lest you feel you've been neglected and ignored by pasky, he's releasing v1.72 which mostly fixes the major bugs some of you guys have reported.

For CWcheat Database Editor neophytes, pasky13's brew is a PC-based app allows you to easily access, manage, and edit your CWCheat .db files.

pasky13 says he hasn't had the time to really sit down and concentrate on adding more features so this should serve as a temporary fix for all those who are looking for a better and bumped up version of the app. Also, he says he couldn't think of any new features to add so fellas, that's your cue to hit up pasky13 and clue him in on whatever ideas you may have brewing in your head.

Changelog:
  • Fixed a bug with detecting the PSP when using the CWcheat installer.
  • Fixed a bug with the installer looping through some checks unnecessarily, should speed the process up.

 Xevicom Forever Issue #2 - Image 1 Xevicom Forever Issue #1 - Image 1

"Love Can Build a Wall. Hate Can Tear it Down. Justice Stands Forever."

Or so the tag line goes. Intriguing, eh? That's the basic theme that Darren Reid's graphic novel "Xevicom Forever" revolves around. The first two issues launched today for the PSP and PC mark Reid's very first release for your beloved handhelds.

There will also be enhanced online editions for the Wii and PS3 soon, which will also allow DS users in Europe and Japan to view the novel. (Currently, you can view the Wii/PS3 online browser versions at Reid's website, the link to which is in the Read link)

And the fun (?) doesn't end there: the novel's third issue will be released on March 16th, and the fourth and final one to be launched on March 23rd. But if you don't wanna go through the hassle of downloading the issues one by one, you can opt to wait 'til March 30, when you can download the whole novel in one bundle.

With previous works that include The Sword of Oz, Darren Reid still has quite a few novels up his sleeve. So if you like what you see in Xevicom Forever, make sure you keep an eye out for his future releases.

Okay, we have good and bad news for all who itch to get their hands on DJ Max Portable 2. The good news is what you're seeing above - a full two and a half minutes of pure gameplay taken from the Game Developers Conference. The bad news? It's gonna remain exclusive to Korea. *cue groans and sighs*

A Joystiq staffer was lucky enough to find the game being featured at Sony's booth and get some one-on-one time with the game. You're probably asking why the hell Sony would bring the game to GDC when it won't be released here. And the answer to that is: "to show publishers and developers what kind of unique titles are possible" on the PSP.

BUT, perhaps we can still keep our fingers crossed that some high and mighty publisher could convince Pentavision to let them release the English version of the game here.

So anyway, we won't bore you with the game details you'll be able to score via the vid. We figure it'll be better to just let you guys see the features for yourself. DJ Max Portable 2 is said to be slated for release in Korea at the end of the month.
