While this is off topic, we have an article up on our new Gadgets blog that is really stinkin' cool. A friend of QJ.NET invited us to help him mount twelve 30-inch Dell flatscreen monitors to his wall, and it was a blast. Above you can see an image of the finished product, and man is it sweet! Powered by 6 top-of-the-line video cards, and three 1000 watt power supplies, this thing is a beast. Click on the Read link below for the full article and step-by-step.

EDIT: Here is a link to an update that we made to the article, where we answer many of the users' questions and have a video. Check it out!

PSPKICK v3.0 IS RELEASED! NEW OFFICIAL FORUMS AS WELL!

Like Beatlemania and avian flu, PSPKick is spreading another craze worldwide. The goldenboys of original homebrew, Noah Vawter and Nathan Wray, are back with a vengeance - that’s vengeance with a capital v3.0.

Kept in captivity for 184 days of inhumane-caliber testing and steroid injection, the third installment of the world's first and greatest portable sample-based drum machine emerges stronger, smarter, and amped the F up.

And no, it's not just for beats anymore. Calling PSPKick v3.0 a beatbox is like calling a computer a Book-Report-Writing Machine. This monster is a complete mobile music editor. Among the enormous amounts of new features the duo have poured into this latest version is the ability to create melodies out of your samples with the new 'Notes' menu. Since you can now control the volume and pitches of those notes independently, v3.0 has all the controls you’ve ever needed to make subliminal references in a song, for example.

Since you can now play your PSP as an instrument, PSPKick v3.0 will do to instruments and samplers what the internet did to travel agents: give them a swift PSPKick in the pants.

PSPKick has been getting a tremendous amount of coverage ever since their first release due to the originality and ridiculous functionality it brings to the PSP homebrew table. (Check out their spot on Attack of the Show, or their interview in Computer Music, or even this article on the psp hacking scene from IEEE Spectrum). So to honor these two homebrew heroes, we here at PSPUpdates have given them a place to host their awesome software and their official forums and file downloads. Come join in on, trade, and listen to the fun by sharing your beats, samples and ideas about PSPKick! CLICK HERE.

For a full list of features that this beast has, download the users manual. For an abbreviated list, click on the "Full Article" link below.

Update!: After a bit of confusion, it is confirmed that PSPKick DOES work on 2.60 Firmware! Read [this thread] for more info!

As you may have noticed, all of the the QJ.NET blogs recently got a major facelift! We have implemented new site layouts which make our blogs much easier to read, include a slew of new features, and in our opinion, look a hell of a lot better than our old layouts did!

We have been developing a custom CMS (Content Management System) back end for many months now, and we are proud to say that it is finally complete! We can add as many features to this new CMS as we want, so we are no longer restricted by Blogger's limited featureset. So expect to see many new site features added in the coming weeks -- such as a completely revamped comments system, User Favorite Articles, Top News Hounds, multi-language support, and much more -- to make the QJ.net blogs much more robust.

Along with the new CMS we decided it was time for all our blogs to ditch our old layouts and designs and upgrade to something better. There are still some small bugs, but we'll be polishing them out ASAP (still have to re-categorize all 4600 articles!).

Be sure to check out our other blogs. A list of them can be found on the sidebar column to the right of this post. Also, expect to see more and more blogs opened up on QJ.net on a variety of topics. What kind of stuff are you in to besides PSP? Comment below and let us know what you think of the new layout, along with what new blogs you would like to see on QJ.net.

Additionally, if you are interested in hiring on as a paid blogger for QJ.NET on the PSP blog (or on any other blog), head over and apply by clicking "Apply to Blog for QJ" on the column to the right. We are looking for experienced writers and bloggers who can bring a unique, knowledgeable, insightful, and witty writing style.

Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX will appear on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in an interview with Yahoo/Reuters of Japan.

Once considered a one-platform company during Nintendo's NES and SNES days, Squaresoft (before it became Square Enix) offended the mighty Yamauchi-san by betraying his company in aligning with Sony for the excellent Final Fantasy VII on PSOne.

Angered by this chasing of the green, Yamauchi is said to have banned Squaresoft from their offices and the companies didn't kiss and make up until several years later.

Now with Enix and Square as one and Nintendo choosing to offer a different experience in the next generation with a new Crystal Chronicles game announced, it seems that Microsoft and Sony will be sharing the fruits of Square Enix's big budget labours. Or so it would seem.

For all we know this could be a subtle challenge to both Sony and Microsoft to get with the cash and make a play for the exclusive rights. Or it's just as cut and dry as "you'll see both DQ9 and FF13 on X360 and PS3".

Square couldn't be reached for comment at time of going to press. As ever though, we'll keep you posted.

Warner Home Video UK is set to release their first titles on the UMD Video format for the PSP console on 25th November 2005.

Two action-packed blockbusters starring Keanu Reeves will hit the streets in the form of sci-fi epic The Matrix Reloaded and comic book adaptation Constantine. Both UMD Video titles will be competitively priced to own at £12.99 RRP each, presenting a perfect gift to accompany a PSP console this Christmas or an affordable self purchase.

So if you want to watch two of the biggest, most action-packed adventures of the past 5 years on the move, put Constantine and The Matrix Reloaded on your wish list.

CONSTANTINE

Based on the DC/Vertigo comic book Hellblazer, Constantine tells the story of irreverent supernatural detective John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), who has literally been to hell and back. When Constantine teams up with sceptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister (also played by Weisz), their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Caught in a catastrophic series of other worldly events, the two become inextricably involved and seek to find their own peace at whatever cost.

£12.99 RRP

THE MATRIX RELOADED

Highly provocative futuristic action thriller sequel to the phenomenally successful The Matrix. In the second chapter of the Matrix trilogy, freedom fighters Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) continue to lead the revolt against the Machine Army, unleashing their arsenal of extraordinary skills and weaponry against the systematic forces of repression and exploitation. In their quest to save the human race from extinction, they gain greater insight into the construct of The Matrix and Neo's pivotal role in the fate of mankind.

£12.99 RRP, 138mins
