Activision Hits Remixed

It's time to take a trip down memory lane as Activision Hits Remixed flashbacks to retail shops nationwide. The most comprehensive collection of Atari 2600 games is now within reach in one nostalgia-filled package for the PSP. Get re-acquainted with 40 of the classic titles that usher the golden age of gaming. With titles like Pitfall, Kaboom!, Chopper Command, Stampede and Keystone Kapers, old-time (and even new) gamers will surely get a kick out of playing these classic games, that by today's standards, are simpler and easier to finish. That's not to say you can complete the game with your eyes closed. You'd be surprised how some of the games can still test your wits and challenge your reflexes, even until now.

Activision Hits Remixed has multiplayer support and wireless functionality, enabling players to out-score one another, either by alternating turns or simultaneously. As a bonus, the compilation squeezed in a host of retro unlockables which include television ads, original game manuals, and Activision Patches. You might even have a blast listening to 80s-themed soundtracks which include such songs as "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell, "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister and "Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats.

The compilation retails for US$ 19.99.

Activision Hits Remixed

The old is once again new, thanks to the PSP-bound Activision Hits Remixed. This collection of games isn't the only nostalgia-inducing game around for it faces stiff competition with EA Replay and Capcom Classic Collection Remixed. But to go back to Activision's bet, this compilation would be home to 40 of the most popular Atari 2600 titles like Checker, Freeway, Kaboom!, Pitfall and Grand Prix among many others. And now, we have some more screenshots of the game.

Now, there may be some who'll say that they won't buy this, or that they have their emulators who'll do the same job for free. But if the company made a decent classic game collection, then that will be worth our attention. Just because these games are from past decades doesn't diminish their contribution to gaming any less significant. So run along, be nice, and take a look at these screens.

boxartWe seem to be getting more and more proof to back up Eric Levin's analysis of why classic collections of games from the yesteryears are becoming more and more popular; we have EA Replay, Capcom Classic Collection Remixed, and another one to add to the list is Activision Hits Remixed, which compiles 40 of the most popular Atari 2600 titles such as Stampede, Pitfall, Kaboom!, Grand Prix, Tennis, and tons more.

But instead of boring you guys with OUR analysis of why these nostalgia-inducing games are making a huge comeback in the gaming industry, whaddya say we just let you take a peek of what's in store for you via screens, eh? Today we bring you five more screens for five different games included in the collection; Checker, Beamrid, Fishing, Freeway, and Laser-B.

Scheduled for a US release at the end of this month, and on November 22nd for Europe and Australia, Activision Hits Remixed is also available on the PS2 and GBA. Enjoy the screens!

ATVIThere certainly seems to be no loss of opportunities to play those classics games from yesterday (see EA Replay, Capcom Classic Collection Remixed, etc.), so now Activision got into the act by announcing Activision Hits Remixed. The game allows players to relive the glory days of Atari 2600 through over 40 of its biggest titles (more than any other compilation available today!) including Pitfall, Kaboom!, Chopper Command, Stampede, Keystone Kapers, River Raid, Demon Attack, and Laser Blast - just to name a few.

Activision Hits Remixed also includes WiFi Multiplayer, including a 'Game Share' feature that allows two PSPs to play together using just one copy of the game, a killer soundtrack from the 80's featuring songs 'Tainted Love' and 'We're Not Gonna Take It' and the ability to unlock timeless Atari 2600 TV ads, patches, and original game manuals.

Activision Hits Remixed is slated for a Fall 2006 release, carrying a RRP of US$19.99
