Here's another round of Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos goodies for the RPG lovers out there. Here's a wave of trailers for NIS America and Never-Land Company's upcoming PSP title.
In the first trailer, you met the characters of Aedis Eclipse's universe. Well, next up is the Field map trailer which features the various elements of the maps. And that includes building construction, special events, and weather conditions affecting gameplay. The Battle trailer on the other hand features the massive army battles with the equally massive special effects (that *may* put Dragon Ball Z to shame). We see heroes' special attacks that can make or break a winning battle. Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos is slated for an April 24 release - meaning later today. Anyway, we'll let you watch the videos and judge for yourself. Enjoy! Another trailer right after the jump! |

It's the start of the week again. Care to see what's ahead of you? Off the bat, the list is populated by puzzle and casual games, and capped with an RPG and a racer: 7 Wonders (Mumbo Jumbo) At the top of the list, 7 Wonders hit us from right out of left field. While no one seems to know much about it, it's actually more familiar (Puzzle Quest, Bejeweled, anyone?) than it seems at first. Ancient gems not your thing? Take Cube for a spin. Looks like a trippy game where you have to stretch the boundaries of your spatial imagination. And if you're the risk taker, place your bets on Hard Rock Casino. With the wireless mode support, you'd have to keep your eye on the prize - that could get rough. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is careening just in time this week too. Racer spun off from the PS2 version, some actually say that it's beefier than it's console counterpart. And finally, for the tactical-RPG folk waiting for The Lion War to start waging, Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos would help you tide the wait over. |

Today we're bringing you a few new screenshots of NIS America and Never-Land Company's Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos, a new strategic RPG title for the Sony PSP. Check out the screenshots below. You guys can also check out a video of the game from this previous post.
Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos is the second Generation of Chaos title to hit the Sony PSP handheld system. The action takes place between three warring planes: the Divine World, the Upper World, and the Lower World. Each plane has its own main character and story, giving players a taste of having three stories going on at once. The difficulty also increases as players take on higher worlds, making the strategic RPG action of Aedis Eclipse more furious than ever. Fast loading times also add to the game's playability along with a pretty deep character and team customization system and item crafting capabilities. Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos is slated for an April 24 release in the U.S. Those interested can also choose to pre-order the game. |

Pop quiz: Quick, tell us what NIS America is known for? If you answered grid-based Strategy RPGs, with the fervor of a grade-grubbing 10 year-old girl, then you're probably a fan and you fully understand why the screenshot of Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos above slightly resembles Disgaea. The game is said to focus on reduced loading times compared to previous SRPG PSP titles, so you'll be able to spend more time playing and thinking up your next move, and less time waiting for the stage or cut-scene to load. Story-wise Aedis Eclipse is divided into three worlds: divine, upper, and lower. Each world will have its own main character, and and its own campaign. The difficulty setting of the game will depend on which world you begin on. Starting on the divine world should give you the hardest setting. This latest installment in the Generation of Chaos series for the PSP is developed by Idea Factory. The NIS-published game is said to be available to you grid-loving PlayStation Portable owners come April this year. Above are a few thumbnails of character art, and below is a download link to a movie featuring the main characters in the game - just in case you're a fan of the genre, but you haven't gotten around to pre-ordering a copy yet. For even more screens, feel free to check out our read link below. Enjoy folks! Download: Aedis Eclipse Character Movie |

Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos is now available on pre-order from Rosenqueen.com. NIS America no longer has a store but their products can be purchased from the mentioned site.Aedis Eclipse is the sequel to Generation of Chaos, a "grand strategy game" which featured full kingdom management and army battles. This will take players on another adventure to the Island of Aedis, and war against a nefarious entity known as Mugen. Anyway, the new title has been dubbed as a strategic/tactical and boasts of a real time strategic battle system. That information in itself is bound to send some eyebrows into orbit. Well, it's rated 10+ and retails at US $39.99. Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos will be available on April 24. |

Yes, it IS the Year of the Strategic/Tactical PSP!!! Tek Advanced Media reports that NIS America announced... oh drat, it ain't the Disgaea Portable US version. But for those who enjoy strategic and tactical games, it could still be quite the enjoyable experience: Aedis Eclipse Generation of Chaos, by Idea Factory, the same guys behind Spectral Souls. Generation of Chaos' grand strategy should appeal to budding Napoleons. The first PSP Generation of Chaos scored somewhere along average (or slightly below) in Metacritic, probably because of its rather steep learning curve, though some users did rate it better. Perhaps this follow-up could improve on the title's image. Here are the key features of Aedis Eclipse:
According to Tek, NISA says that they've localized the game, and will be ready for release in April of this year. |
