Assassin’s Creed II is quickly shaping up to be one of the year's blockbuster releases. We're just days away from launch, but for those of you who still hunger for more info on the game, here's a video interview with lead game designer Patrick Plourde.

Altair's PSP incarnation is shaping up to be one of the must have titles this holiday. In Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, Ubisoft and Griptonite Games have teamed up to bring the action-adventure video game back to its original open world gameplay and into our handhelds. Ubisoft's decision to release an Assassin's Creed title on the PSP and put in PS3-PSP connectivity seems to be paying off. Alain Corre, Ubisoft's executive director, revealed during a conference call that projected sales of Assassin's Creed 2 have gone up by 15% thanks to the PSP title Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.

This holiday, you will be seeing another game-inspired movie come out, but this time, not as a full-length feature, but rather as a short film series. The game that inspired the series: Assassin's Creed II: Lineage (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). Yep, Ezio's yet to make his rounds in the consoles, and already, he's got his eyes set on Hollywood. This boy sure wastes no time dealing with business.

Sony has finally detailed the Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines PSP bundle that they announced back in February. They've also posted a new trailer and gotten producer Frederic Lefrancois to give us a brief background on the game and how it ties into the Assassin's Creed universe. One of the criticisms leveled against the original Assassin's Creed was that it started out strong but eventually got repetitive due to a lack of gameplay variety. That's one of the things Ubisoft is addressing in the sequel, which in turn brings the added bonus of longer play time. More after the jump.
