CapcomWe're all getting old, and although some of us may not want to take this news comfortably, well we can't contest the fact that we've indeed matured, and there's nothing we can do about it.

But, one of the fun things that comes with age is the treasure trove of memories that go with it. Nothing beats going on a trip down memory lane alone or with friends. There's something captivating about sheer nostalgia, and call me a sap if you will, but I think it's nice to look back on the things you've done, stuff that you experienced, or games that you've played with.

Yep, you read that right: games. And the Capcom guys sure hit a bullseye with Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded, which was released yesterday. It sure is a nostalgia feast for people like me, as it features around 15 games that go back to the 16-bit days: Commando, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Street Fighter II, Mercs, 1942, 1943, and a whole lot more.

So, if you want to reminisce your gaming highs and lows during 1984, then maybe you'd like to check out this one. As I said earlier, it was released yesterday, October 25, so we're guessing your local gaming stores are carrying it by now.

Devil May Cry 4

With the Tokyo Game Show getting closer and closer, another title has been confirmed to make an appearance as a playable game at the said event, and right now, we're just happy to hear that Devil May Cry 4 (DMC4) will be gracing gamers with its presence.

Capcom has just announced that there will be several playable units for DMC4 at the show floor when the Playstation 3 makes its public debut in the country. The event, which will run from September 22 to 24 is expected to draw large numbers of gamers and game news reporters, so Capcom decided to put on their best face, which just so happened to be Dante's and his equally-good-looking alter ego, Nero's.

In any case, other titles at the show that can be added on top of Sony's PS3 list, are the following:

Rockman

Capcom has announced its lineup for the Tokyo Game Show, which includes mostly heavy hitting games from their major franchises. Check out the list:
Is that Gyakuten Saiban 4 on the list? Why yes, it is! For those who don't know, that's the fourth game in the Phoenix Wright series, although it will likely become the Ace Attorney series once the game finally hits North America. Interestingly, it seems that the protagonist is no longer Phoenix.

PSP fans should also be happy about all the support their getting as well. Power Stone Collection especially is making former Dreamcast owners giddy with excitement. The next gen people will be getting quite a treat with Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet. It seems that Capcom is making sure TGS is good for gamers.

Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded was first presented last May 10 at E3, ever since that time the game had been making some huge strides towards its big release this coming October 24. From the name of the game itself, it is a collection of Capcom games that has been around since 1984. Games such as Commando, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Street Fighter II, Mercs, 1942, 1943, Eco Fighters, Higemaru, Gun Smoke, SonSon, King of Dragons, Exed Exes, and Knights of the Round would be giving you not only hours of gaming bliss but also of nostalgia.

For now, we'll let the trailer and some of the game's artwork do the talking.

A screencap from the trailerWe previously wrote about Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded for the PSP. and just recently, we saw a trailer that got us all excited. Apparently you can play a few of the games, like the arcade shoot-em-up games, in a "vertical" mode.

Even if you knew nothing about CCCR, you can guess a few things by the name of the game:
  • It's a collection of Capcom's classics.
  • Chun Li is in it.
Actually, it's the second classics collection (the first was Capcom Classics Collection for PlayStation2 and Xbox; I don't know why they didn't call it "Capcoms Classics Collection 2" or something like that; maybe they're just big fans of "The Matrix").

The collection spans Capcom games since 1984 (were some of you even born yet?). There are at least 15 games in this release; that includes Commando, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Street Fighter II (it made us nostalgic to see both Hyper and Champion modes in the trailers we've seen so far), Mercs, 1942, 1943, Eco Fighters, Higemaru, Gun Smoke, SonSon, King of Dragons, Exed Exes, Knights of the Round. It's definitely a worthwhile collection for your PSP promising "hours of nostalgic gameplay."

Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded is scheduled to be released October 24, 2006.

As for the trailer, it's a very recent Japanese one. If you don't know Japanese, you can still look at the pretty images. I'm not leet enough to embed that video here, so you can check it out at our download site. It's a .MOV file, so you'll need QuickTime or something similar.

At E3 on May 10th Capcom presented a new title, Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded. Among some of the titles this compilation will include are Eco Fighters, King of Dragons, and Knights of the Round. The games included range from side-scrolling shooters to side-scrolling brawlers. Ok, maybe that doesn't sound very diverse, but it's classic arcade by some of the masters. I consider myself to be a total gaming geek, and I have played tons of games, but some of these arcade games I've never seen, and I'm sure they will be new to a lot of PSP gamers.

Todd Thorson, director of marketing at Capcom Entertainment claims, "Capcom’s classic arcade hits are truly reloaded for the PSP system" adding that "On top of fan favorites such as Street Fighter II, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and Commando we’ve added a new group of titles to the collection, continuing our legacy of providing quality entertainment for all players".

Collection games are great to have on PSP, having tons of games on one UMD can save tons of hassle and introduce players to classic games they might have otherwise never played.

Capcom has announced yet another collection of classics called Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded. This collection will include 15 classics such as Street Fighter II, Commando, and Ghouls 'n' Ghosts. The most exciting feature is that Capcom is taking a page from the DS' book by being able to play ad-hoc on one copy of the UMD. They will also include game sharing, and you will be able to customize the screen setting and controls to your liking. You will be able to earn credits for an in-game slot machine that doles out things such as concept art, secret codes, and gameplay tips.

Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded is set for release in North America in the fourth quarter of the year.
