Dynasty Warriors Vol.2

The sequel to the game, Dynasty Warriors, could now be found within the hollowed halls of Western store shelves. Yup, being poetic may not suit us, so we guess we'll give it to you straight. KOEI Corporation just announced that Dynasty Warriors Vol.2 has shipped to retailers throughout North America.

The game is loosely based on 14th century Chinese author Luo Guanzhong's work, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The book is a Chinese historical novel that tackled the turbulent events that occurred during the twilight of China's Han Dynasty which was followed by the Three Kingdoms period.

Anyway, back to the game, you'll be able to rough it up in a four-player Battle Royal Mode - that is if you got sick of the 31 maps, more than 50 stages, 300 unlockable officers, 48 dynasty warriors, parts of the bargain. It's a good thing that you don't have to take our word for it anymore since you can buy it and experience it for yourself, now that it has shipped.

Dynasty Warriors 2

We have, here in our midst, a huge serving of Dynasty Warriors Volume 2 screenshots and yes, we'll be the first to admit that that opening line is now pretty hackneyed, but what's special about this batch is that they're all in English. The last time the game was brought in  the circulation, the screens were in Japanese, so most of us were left looking at it and not having an inkling what's happening. Well, now, you may have a clearer picture of how things work around Dynasty Warriors Vol.2's ancient China.

We all know by now that the game is a sequel to the original PSP version- Dynasty Warriors and is based on Luo Guanzhong's novel. You'll be able to engage in a four-player Battle Royal Mode, plus it has 31 maps, 300 unlockable officers, more than 50 stages, and 48 dynasty warriors. Cool? Check out the screenshots for they make this article interesting.

dynsty2Some of you may not recognize this PSP title Shin Sangokumusou 2nd Evolution. But that's because it's how the Japanese call Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2. Fortunately, Coldbird didn't have to wait for the US version to come up with a real spiffy cheating device -- one made exactly for the Japanese version of the game.

Based on a novel by Luo Guanzhong of bygone days in China, Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 is a sequel to the original PSP version. Of course, it won't be a smash if it doesn't come up with far more stages to beat, more generals, a new way to customize the horse, and a nice twist in the gameplay where you get to take a different path when you're in a certain stage of the game. The game also enables widescreen viewing and wireless multiplayer feature.

Now back to Coldbird. What has his cheating device got in store for us? Possibly one of the best stuff you can ever get out of Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2: Infinite Health, Infinite Time, Refill Musou, Power Jump, and err...Assrocket. Again, this cheating device works for the Japanese version of the game, so shoot -- all that's left for you to do is to download it here.

Vol 2.

Although there have been screenshots floating around for months now, only recently has it been officially announced by Koei that their tactical action game, Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 will be coming to North America this fall. Finally, it's in English.

Some of the features of the game include:
  • a 4-player Battle Royal Mode
  • 300 unlockable officers
  • more than 50 stages
  • 31 maps
  • and most importantly all 48 Dynasty Warriors.
By the way, the game has branching story paths for each kingdom which promises hours and hours of replay. It'll cost around $40 at most retail shops.

After the debatable Ninety-Nine Nights, will Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 be "teh game" for fans of the genre? What do you guys think?

Koei has presented their line of titles at display at the E3. The Dynasty Warriors series is present in abundance, with Dynasty Warriors DS, Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 (PSP) as well as a web-based game under the working title of Dynasty Warriors BB. The sequel to Samurai Warriors will both hit the Xbox 360 and PS2 and round out Koei's usual share of period games.

Aspiring sailors and pirates can extend their list of promising online titles (Pirates of the Caribbean Online, Pirates of the Burning Sea) with Uncharted Waters Online, a multiplayer spin-off of the long-running series that made its debut on the Super Nintendo.
PS2 cult hit Gitaroo Man makes the jump to Sony's portable with Gitaroo Man Live!, while the first futuristic racer for the Playstation 3, Fatal Inertia, will mark the debut of Koei's new Canada-based studio.

Finally, we have Bladestorm: The Hundred Year War, possibly the most interesting of them all. Developed by the respected Omega Force team - responsible for creating Dynasty Warriors - Bladestorm is going to be an entirely new franchise; an action game to expect as much dedication as Koei's aforementioned Samurai series.
