FIFA Soccer 07

The news of the FIFA Soccer 07 delay for the PSP version was of course, not welcomed with open arms by most people. The release date was moved to October 17 which is not to far from now, but if you're still having your doubts about getting this game, maybe the EA people have something that could win you over, and we think it's not their pleasing personality.

We have over here 112 screenshots of the game. Yes, that number may or may not be enough compensation for the delay, but hey, we get a free look of the game in over a 100 angles so who are we to complain right? Anyway, we will stop blabbing for we know you gotta prepare to take a peek at all of them, so without anymore interruptions, here are the screenshots.

FIFA 07 PSP

Yesterday was the release date for Electronic Arts' latest soccer title, FIFA 07 for the PSP, DS, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and GBA. Thankfully for most gamers the release went smooth, with FIFA 07 shipping on the day : except for the PSP version. EA Canada who are developing the title for the PSP announced that the game which was scheduled for release this week would in fact be released on October 17, but to the anger of portable gamers offered no explanation for the PSP versions delay.

Top of the speculation list on why the game was delayed is the control system which EA would have been hard at work on, after the criticism they received over FIFA 06's PSP control system. Gamers complained that EA hadn't spent enough time on the game-- instead of adapting it to suit the PSPs rather awkward button layout , they went for a quick port method. EA have obviously been keen on fixing the problem for FIFA 07 and so this is probably the cause of the delay. At least people can't moan about EA spending enough time on the PSP version of FIFA 07 as it's the only one they are working on now!

Last week's US releases was hooped up with two NBA games, and you're probably busy with the basket ever since you got the game. This coming week, however, take it out to the field with a FIFA game. FIFA Soccer 07 has Ronaldhino starring on the box, and the rest of the popular football players are kicking it off in this new soccer game.

There's also going to be some gambling going on, with a beefier version of Stacked. It's going to have some bonuses in this release, so you might want to check that out. If you want to rough it up, there's going to be some sidewalk smashing in Gangs of London. You can choose which gang you want to play: whether you want to control Jamaicans, Russians, Chinese, British, and Pakistanis, each of them have different skills to suit your personality as a gangster.

If you're not the sporty/active type, there's still a puzzler involving a ball of blubber (no, not Loco Roco) that you might want to try out. Mercury Meltdown involves you trying to navigate a very slippery ball of quicksilver around an obstacle course. All you need is a steady hand and some patience. This game isn't for the faint of heart...

It's a well-rounded line-up for this week, so pick your prize.
Mercury Meltdown squeezes into the week
Here's the list of PSP games coming out this week:

10/03/06 Stacked with Bonus!
10/03/06 Gangs of London
10/03/06 Mercury Meltdown
10/03/06 FIFA Soccer 07

FIFPlay.com Site Banner

Just as soon as they have finished the last coat of paint on FIFA '07 for its fall release, EA Sports' thinking about what to do with FIFA 2008. And this time, they want to encourage you, the fans, to think some great stuff up for them. Sounds like a good idea, we wonder if they'll do this for every game in the EA stable...

Ahem, er... back to the topic. EA Sports has announced FIFPlay.com, the community website for the FIFA series, as well as the FIFA Manager titles (which are, alas, so far only on the PC). It packs feature interviews and polls; it hosts its own bug-reporting form for game glitches, and an "Ask EA!" form for the curious or inquisitive; and - this is the star of the site (we'd type it out, but a picture's worth a thousand words, right?):

FIFPlay.com: IDeas for FIFA '08!!!

FIFPlay is the brainchild of Schahryar Fekri, EA Sports' Asian consultant and online editor for FIFA football. Back last year, he started an "Ideas for FIFA 07" thread in their official forum. More than one thousand posts flooded the thread as each fan wanted to give his or her piece to the game. If that bit of history holds true today, well he's bound to expect a similar flood on FIFPlay.com.

You can either see the glass half full or half empty after seeing all these videos of the much anticipated games for the PSP like Pocket Racers, Coded Arms Contagion, FIFA 2007, Lego Star Wars 2, Silent Hill Origins and Need for Speed Carbon. On one hand, it's saying "This is what you're missing by not going to Leipzig," and on the other, "These videos could be as close as you can get to the the Games Convention happening right now, so indulge." So how do you see your glass?

fifa07Come September 29, football fans will be hurled back into the action and drama of the football season with FIFA 07. You probably know by now that the game is packed with new intelligent AI that ensures each man on the team make realistic decisions and not go on a crotch-kicking and headbutting spree.

But what would really make you want to buy FIFA 07 is its intriguing networking options. So, if you own a PS2 and a PSP, you might want to try out the new connectivity options wherein you can switch your career between consoles for a "home and away play." But that could also mean you'd have to have two copies of the game.

What's more, you can compete in "online matches that run in tandem with the real world fixtures." This means you can play the same match your team is playing via EA Sports Interactive Leagues. Playing in these matches could also influence the overall virtual result - the total scores of all the videogame match-ups.

So, if you want to revive your virtual football career, then this FIFA 07 feature should come in very handy.
