We remember Mr. Belvedere as being the 80's version of a super
butler-slash-nanny for American households. Apparently, he's also the
villainous enemy to Quahog's village idiot, Peter Griffin, as he's
kidnapped Peter's family.
That, or Peter may have hit his head again. Strangely enough, it's those completely unrelated things that make "Family Guy" so funny, and while translating them into a game format probably isn't easy, 2K Games made sure we got enough laughs out of it on Sony's PSP handheld. These three new videos of the Family Guy video game showcase some of the things Peter and his son, the megalomaniacal British-sounding infant Stewie, have to do on their respective quests. Stewie not only has to escape from the hospital (by shooting everything in his way), he also has to face his brother Bertram again, though why he has to go inside Peter Griffin to do that is beyond us. Peter, on the other hand, really does think Mr. Belvedere is real. He rampages through the town in an effort to find his missing family (who is probably not in the clutches of the fictional Belvedere). Sigh... so much weirdness, not enough time. Enjoy these videos instead. |

2K Games has announced that the hilariously dysfunctional family is now out to wreak havoc not only in your own homes, but anywhere and everywhere you go, as the PSP action game Family Guy has shipped to retailers and is now up for grabs. All the characters you love, or hate, or hate and love, will be featured in the game, along with the entire cast and creative team of the hit TV show, which has been hailed as the closest competition of one of the longest-running cartoon shows, "The Simpsons". The Family Guy for the PSP lets you take on the role of beer-guzzling Peter Griffin as he tries to stop Mr. Belvedere's sinister plans or Stewie, the diabolical youngster who tries to fight off his half-brother Bertram as the two battle it out to be The One who takes over the world. You'll also get to play as Brian Griffin, the family dog, and devise ways to escape prison and prove to everyone your innocence in a puppy paternity case. Developed by High Voltage Software, the game combines arcade-like action, platforming, combat, and puzzle-solving as you play and progress through three interweaving stories in the typical hilariously chaotic Family Guy fashion. Family Guy is now out on the market so make sure you check with your local retailers for price and availability. |

This first ever clip from 2K Games' Family Guy has capture the average, middle class, suburban family in all its glory - a talking dog, a beer bellied dad plopped on a couch watching TV while having a conversation with a dog, and a feisty infant bent on world domination. This time around the diabolically evil youngest child of Peter and Lois, Stewie Griffin, has finally met his match. The success of his newly completed mind control device comes under threat, when an equally sinister punk of a kid goes after the satellite dish. Has little Stewie finally met his match? Based on the American animated comedy created by Seth MacFarlane for FOX in 1999, Family Guy revolves around the adventures of Peter Griffin, a bumbling but well-intentioned blue-collar worker, and his family that includes an intellectual talking dog. In the series, the characters live and work in Quahog, Rhode Island, a hyperrealistic and intensely satirical version of a suburb of the capital and largest city of Rhode Island, Providence.
Family Guy, the video game, is said to have Peter, Brian, and Stewie as playable characters. It's scheduled to hit the shelves on October 2. Until then, check out these new screenshots featuring Stewie, Brian, Peter, and Lois Griffin. |

As the development on the Family Guy
is coming to a close with its release this Fall, more screenshots have
been revealed to show off how good this game will actually be. Besides
heading to the PSP, Family Guy
will also be released for the Xbox and PS2, which explains the aspect
ratio of the screenshots. But looking at these simple yet charming
visuals, we have no doubts that the PSP version will almost look
identical. More screens await after the jump! |

I guess Family Guy is back in business. After being cancelled, Variety now has word of the show airing 22 additional episodes on FOX starting September 10. Same goes for the PSP game that has a touch of Snatch by Madonna's director husband Guy Ritchie. The plans of Peter, Brian and Stewie for world domination will begin to overlap as you delve deeper into the game. Peter's goal is to prevent Mr. Belvedere from being overlord, while Stewie matches wits with Bertram as plans to bring death to insipid beings like his mother Lois. Brian meanwhile, will have to escape prison first, before he can begin his journey to becoming ruler of the world. Catch Family Guy on your PSP this October 2. If you don't just like the broccoli and the sprinkles you shall cease to exist. |

So you've watched the show. You followed every episode in FOX, bought the DVD compilation and still watched it on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, and religiously followed it on FOX when it resumed production in 2005. Aside from that, you're known to have every Family Guy merchandise in the planet. Heck, you even collected newspaper clippings about it. Now you can't wait for the "freakin' sweet" game for the PSP slated this fall. Speaking of which, 2KGames confirmed that the show's main cast would be the ones who will breathe life to the characters in the game. So there, no need to worry that the show's creator Seth MacFarlane would ditch his role as daddy Peter Griffin, lovable-megalomaniac-Mommy-hating-baby (whew) Stewie Griffin and the family's canine Brian. Moreover, expect the rest of the cast onboard the game: Seth Green will still portray Chris Griffin, Mila Kunis will still play teenager Meg Griffin, while Alex Borstein will still portray the only sane member of the family, Lois Griffin. Yep, the operative word here is still. And that's a good thing, right? At least we won't get weird new voices for the equally weird family. |

Family Guy fans will probably go wild during E3 when more of the upcoming game's details are revealed. But until then, they'll have to settle for this scoop.2K Games' upcoming game based on Seth McFarlane's Family Guy cartoon will apparently feature three playable characters, several different gameplay types, and of course, several takes on pop-culture entrertainment, according to GameSpot. Gamers will be able to switch back and forth between three characters: daddy Peter Griffin, baby Stewie, and Brian the dog. Another cool feature is that each character will have a separate storyline. Peter will be trying to stop Mr. Belvedere from world domination. Stewie will face his rival Bertram, and Brian will attempt to escape wrongful incarceration. Just like the show, the Family Guy game will be full of jokes about at pop culture, but these jokes will be interactive with the gamer. Gameplay has been called a mix of "combat, stealth, and puzzle-solving gameplay" taking place in Quahog, Rhode Island. Family Guy, which hasn't been priced or rated, is scheduled for a fall release. More details will be forthcoming at E3. |

You know what really grinds my gears? That this game isn't on the PSP already. According to 1up, developers 2K and High Voltage are producing a new game for the PSP, PS2, and Xbox, based on the Family Guy TV series. You will be able to play as Peter (Pea..tear..Griffin), Brian, and Stewie, each with their own plans of taking over the world. Peter's goal is to prevent Mr. Belvedere from taking over the world, while Stewie matches wits with Bertram and continues his neverending goal of world domination. Brian meanwhile, will have to escape prison, and naturally take over the world. The game will be based on combat, of which we would like to hope for fighting giant chickens as Peter. Like a Guy Ritchie movie, you will watch the storyline of each character, overlapping neighboring storylines to an end goal.1up also let loose that there will be over 200 cameos throughout the game, including Quagmire, the old pedophile stalking Chris, Opie, and even the evil monkey will have face time. The latest on the release date is towards the end of this year, but no final day has been given. We'll definitely be on the watch for this title and any other smurf-tacular news regarding it. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
