Homebrew coder Bubbletune is back to release a new version of Game Categories, a handy homebrew plugin that allows you organize your PSP's Game menu. The latest update is a bug fix release to resolve some issues from the previous version.

PSP homebrew developer Pspflashsystem has released a new plugin called TimeBatteryPercent on the QJ.NET PSP Development forums. This plugin displays the percentage of available battery on the PSP XMB. It also adds a year value to the date.

Homebrew coder ac-portugal has released the first version LuaMP3, a simple MP3 player coded in Lua. Some of the features of the initial release includes -- ability to chnage the CPu speed, display the time, loading bar identical to the iPhone and more.

For those of you not familiar with the app, this handy plugin allows you to configure your PSP's buttons to fire up specified games and programs at startup. The latest update now supports GEN firmwares and Bubbletune’s Game Categories plugin.

It was a week full of bittersweetness -- for those who have PSP Gos at least. Team Typhoon, the fellas behind ChickHEN, blew a lot of minds by showing proof of homebrew running on the PSP Go. The bad news is they have no plans of releasing their HEN. There's still hope, though. Homebrew dev Freeplay is still hard at work on developing an eLoader for the download-only handheld.
