Homebrew coder Exter has dropped by our forums to release a new update for his brain twisting homebrew game PSP Rubik's Cube. The latest release now includes a new menu system, void cube, new custom backgrounds and cube skins, just to name a few.

Gotta level with you guys. This week's PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior is a bit on the lean side, what with all of the news coming out of TGS. Still, our dedicated homebrew masters managed to come up with a few big ones in the past seven days. There's a little bit of something here for everyone, especially those who love emulators, so let's get right on to it.

Last week's announcement of a new CFW in the works was marred by cries of shenanigans from the homebrew community. We already touched on that a bit in the previous edition of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior, but the issue didn't stop there. In the past seven days, we saw new videos both backing up and debunking the one that Team Mack showed. Read on for the rest of this week's PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior.

Usually, when a comparatively major firmware update gets released, the first thing the homebrew community does is scrutinize the changelog. Not just the one officially posted but also the things that Sony doesn't mention. Then, it's usually decrypted pretty rapidly by one group or another. Finally, someone posts a YouTube video showing what is allegedly a working CFW version of the official update.

Things didn't go any different with OFW 6.00.

After months of anticipation, homebrew coder dan369 has finally released the first version of PSP Mario - The New Worlds. The homebrew game based on the classic Super Mario Bros. is now out of beta and is a total recode from the previews version. More info after the break.

The good news is, Dark AleX isn't leaving the homebrew scene. That's what Dark-AleX.org webmaster announced earlier this week. The bad news is, not a lot of homebrew traffic went past our PSP blog during the past seven days. Still, there's a little something for homebrew afficionados past the jump. Homebrew coder Preyker has dropped by our forums to release a new update for PSP Copter, a homebrew game coded in Phoenix Game Engine LUA. The latest update has added a new copter and has much improved performance.

Quite a few theories sprung up during the latter half of the week when it was announced that Dark AleX's forums were shutting down. Did it mean that the homebrew legend was leaving the scene?
