Level 5's latest offering to Sony's handheld is now on shelves, and some even already have their hands on Jeanne D'Arc for their PSPs. For those who've never heard of the game, or turned their backs after hearing "turn-based strategy," you may want to check out this trailer from Games Convention '07 in Leipzig that could change your mind.

Known for games with cutesy anime-esque characters involved in strong and engaging plots, it's pretty much safe to assume that Level 5 will recreate the story of French heroine Joan of Arc into epic proportions filled with strategy and RPG elements. This brief trailer introduces the game with a narrative, before showing off some insane gameplay footage.

Fans of the genre would love Jeanne D'Arc's graphics, throwing other pseudo-3D SRPGs out of the water. Special effects are also topnotch, with impressive audio to boot. Give it your verdict after watching the video below.

On Shelves This Week - Image 1

BioShock on the Xbox 360 - Image 1We're hoping you guys saved up enough money for this week's releases. There's quite a lot of eye-catchers hitting the shelves and every single major platform out there - PS3, 360, Wii, PC, PSP, and DS - has at least one good title to offer.

Those who were able to try out the demo of BioShock can finally dive into the full game. Don't forget to take your daily dose of plasmids when you're there. Meanwhile, GRAW 2 will roll out for the PS3 and PSP as well. Tactical shooting has never been this orgasmic.

Handheld gamers get a heavy dose of RPG treatment with the release of Jeanne d'Arc and Dragoneer's Aria for the PSP. Whether you want to go for turn-based or SRPG, we'd still suggest you get both. DS owners get some bite-sized fun with more Brain Age 2 training and Turn It Around - another "mini-game collection" title that'll surely get heads spinning.

Let's get ready for the plunge! On Shelves This Week include...

BioShock. Take a dive into the not-so-dead underwater city of Rapture as you FPS your way through the horror of Big Daddies and Little Sisters. Hone your skill on controlling the destructive powers of the plasmids to fight for your survival.

Jeanne d'Arc. Another RPG heading to Sony's handheld platform, but this time in the form of a tactical RPG. The game is a historical-fiction retelling of the times of Joan of Arc. Pick up a Jeanne D'Arc demo disk for free - Image 1 Strategy gamers wanting to try Level 5's Jeanne D'Arc will be pleasantly surprised to find that they can pick up a demo disk of the game for free. This is a pretty cool offer and one that PSP owners should look into, considering the amount of hype this tactical RPG has been building up.

The game is loosely based on the exploits of Joan of Arc during the 15th century AD when France and England were battling each other during the 100 Years' War. The gameplay is reminiscent of the Final Fantasy Tactics series with a three-fourths view of the map, action points, grid based movement, and special attacks.

If you want to give the game a spin, head on over to PlayStation.com thorough our read link to find out more on how to get your free demo disk.

Jeanne is definitely in for a tough fight today! She's forced to fight on a bridge against the British army, led by the mysterious Talbot in Jeanne D'Arc. GameTrailers has the blow-by-blow account, however, as they've got footage of Jeanne's important battle.

What can you expect to see in this video of Level 5's video game for the Sony PSP? Besides Jeanne wielding her mighty sword, you've also got a thief stealing cash from the British, a British Sniper attempting to take down Jeanne, and a quick glimpse of Jeanne's fully-armored upgrade form in Jeanne D'Arc.

That being said, watch the video! You'll definitely want to know how it all turns out. Enjoy!

Jeanne d'Arc - Image 1

Jeanne d'Arc is certainly one of the more interesting-looking RPGs that's headed for the PlayStation Portable - not only does it have a titular female heroine filling the role of the main character, but it's also a fantastic interpretation of the war between France and England. By fantastic, yours truly means as both very weird, and very good - and these screenshots will convince you of that and more.

In this batch of fresh screenshots, we see the game's unique cel-shaded graphics tell a story of combat, self-discovery, and a duty to fight for king and country. The grid system that we see more in more in today's RPGs is very nicely done, with the characters detailed to the hilt and very distinguishable from one another. The portraits are drawn in an anime style that has a traditional feel to it, and conveys the emotions of the characters very well.

Certainly a very good game coming from the folks over at Level 5 - let's just hope it doesn't have the horrifically sad ending that the actual figure in history ended up with. Updates as we get them, in the meantime enjoy the screenshots!

What we have below is a video interview for Level 5's Jeanne d'Arc done during Comic-Con 2007 in San Diego. The clip features American voice actress Kari Wahlgren who is already famous for her previous works on some animes like Naruto and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Wahlgren is also known for her role as Shino in Namco Bandai's .hack//G.U. series, Fatal Frame II, and even in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. In case you really want to know, she lend her voice to the character of soldier Teliko Friedman. During the clip, the actress talked about the main character and how it was kind of hard to produce a light French accent.

Anyway, we'll just leave you with the video. Jeanne d'Arc is already available in Japan. It will be released in North America this coming August 21.

Jeanne d'Arc - Image 1

We've got four new videos for the upcoming PlayStation Portable video game from Level 5, Jeanne d'Arc. This batch of videos feature a number of things, from the turn-based combat action to the video game's cutscene.

In the cutscene, we see Jeanne d'Arc cartoon style utilized to unfold the story and we find out the root of the problems in the video game through a bedtime story. Armies of demons attack the human realm and five armlets are forged to stop the conflict. Well, you'll find out what comes next when you watch the long-ish cutscene featuring a knight, a magic wielder, and then-prince Henry (we are vaguely reminded that the road to hell is paved with good intentions). The gameplay videos, on the other hand, showcase the turn-based combat in Jeanne d'Arc.

Well, go on to the Full article to check out the Jeanne d'Arc videos. Enjoy!

PSP gamers who are fans of turn-based strategy titles have a lot of reasons to rejoice with Level 5 and Sony Computer Entertainment's Jeanne d'Arc. It looks a pretty good game which pays homage to other Tactics games that were released before it.

The village defense video is pretty interesting with Joanne d'Arc's team rushing to defend a pair of villagers from some English Soldiers. As most would expect, the game is set during 15th century AD with France and England engaging each other during the 100 Years' War.

It is a very interesting take on this historical event and one that fantasy and history buffs will find really amusing. This game is already out in Japan and will be hitting U.S. shores this
August 21.

Watch the video and see if the game appeals to you. Enjoy!

It's got cheesy French accents, a fun tactical battle system, and even some French orcs! It's Level 5's Jeanne D'Arc, and GameTrailers has a new video showcasing the game in all it's delicious glory.

What can you expect to see in these three videos? Well, besides an animated cutscene showing Jeanne acquiring a glowing armlet thingy on her wrist, you'll see orcs jump out of nowhere, as well as two women beating the snot out of said orcs. As you can probably guess, there's a lot of girl power here, and it's fun to watch.

In any case, watch Jeanne perform some feats of daring as you watch this introductory battles and cutscenes. Enjoy!

More videos after the jump!
