Electronic Arts today announced that John Madden, football icon and television analyst of ABC's Monday Night Football, has signed a multi-year agreement to continue to license his name and appear in and consult on the development of future iterations of the blockbuster game that bears his name. Madden NFL 06, the newest iteration of the EA SPORTS best-selling football franchise will feature the name, voice, likeness and expertise of the celebrated sports personality. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Madden 06 is headed to PSP! That's right, that's what I said. The most successful football video game around is now portable, with a good amount of the strong features we're expecting to see in the console version.

Expect 10 mini-games for the quick burst of action gameplay, a great feature for the football fan on the go. Playmaker controls are available in a pre-snap capacity, but no hit stick. And yes, Wi-fi functionality will get utilized. Infrastructure online mode is here for access to updatable rosters via the new EA locker.
