BBFC applies for judicial review over VAC's Manhunt 2 decision - Image 1The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has recently sent a press wire announcing that it's currently applying for a judicial review of the Video Appeals Committee's recent decision to overturn the BBFC's rejection for a rating for Manhunt 2 (PSP, Wii, PS2). Manhunt 2 from Rockstar Games - Image 1Take-Two Interactive recently celebrated a successful appeal to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) to give Manhunt 2 a rating in order to be released in the UK. However things aren't over yet as the BBFC warns that it will take the case to High Court if they find anything unlawful in the proceedings of the Video Appeals Committee. The BBFC is still waiting for the report of the proceedings. More in the full article.

Take-Two's Zelnick happy with VAC decision for Manhunt 2 - Image 1It seems that the winds are slowly blowing Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive's way with regards to the highly controversial video game Manhunt 2 for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable platforms.

Just a couple of hours ago, we learned that the decision of Video Appeals Committee to give the title "another look" and re-consider its ban status had been heeded. The full details after the jump!

British Board of Film Classification - Image 1It ain't over yet: Manhunt 2 (Wii, PSP, PS2) may still find its way into the UK as the British Board of Film Classification has agreed to take another look at the Manhunt 2 ban in the UK. This comes after the decision by the Video Appeals Committee to allow Rockstar to make an appeal in behalf of the game. Read the BBFC's comment on the appeal in the full article.

Video Games - Image 1Worried about the possibility of video game violence tainting the minds of children, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy came up with a "do not buy" list of violent video games.

Contrary to what most might expect, Rockstar Games' controversial Manhunt 2 (Wii, Sony PlayStation Portable) isn't the number one violent video game, but Grand Theft Auto is. Check out the Top Ten list in the full article.

Future Publishing sends BBFC cover disc containing Manhunt 2 footage - Image 1With Manhunt 2 (Wii, PSP, PS2) currently banned in the UK, we imagine some gamers will be looking for alternative ways of peering into the controversial footage that made this the case. Future Publishing is apparently trying to do this, as they await the results of cover discs they've sent over to the BBFC. Interestingly, the content in these discs weren't approved by Rockstar. Manhunt 2 - Image 1Several influential individuals and groups have already called for the reinstating of the Adults Only rating of Rockstar Games' Manhunt 2 (PS2, Wii and PSP). Now even the senators are on the case. Four US senators sent a letter addressed to ESRB requesting a "thorough review" of the game. Check out the full article for more details.

Manhunt 2 - Image 1Rockstar Games will be making another push next week to get Manhunt 2 (Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo Wii) onto store shelves in the UK.

The BBFC has reportedly confirmed that the publisher will be appealing to the Video Appeals Committee to get the revised version of Manhunt 2 onto UK store shelves. More details at the full article.
