New Monster Hunter PSP game coming - Image 1Monster Hunter Freedom Unite isn't even out in other regions yet and Capcom's already planning to make another Monster Hunter game for Japan. Plans are still sketchy though, and even Capcom admits that the game's not going to come out anytime soon.

MHP2GNotch another milestone up for Capcom and its seminal hit, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. Over at Japan, the game has now shipped a combined total of over three million units. That takes numbers for both the regular MHP2G release and the re-release under the "PSP the Best" label.

Famitsu logo - Image 1This is one tough list to get into, and so we tip our hats to the game titles that were hailed as one of Famitsu's Best PSP and PS3 Games for the past year of 2008. No surprise there, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G from Capcom took the sweet number 1 spot, with cherry on top for the Sony handheld, while Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 4 leads the pack for the PS3, with no less than a shining perfect score from the reviewers.

Tales of Vesperia - Image 1Here we have a breakdown of the Top 100 games that sold in Japan during 2008. The list was published by Enterbrain earlier this month, and now also appears on this week's Famitsu issue. Mostly dominated by Nintendo titles, the list still has some noteable Sony games somewhere near the top too (surprise, surprise, MHP 2nd G reigns king, as always). Meanwhile, the 360 is... well, at least it's represented, care of Tales of Vesperia... and *only* Tales of Vesperia. Yeah, right down at #82.

PS3 PSP - PlayStation Awards 2008 - Image 1Man. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G just keeps on raking all those prizes and milestones in Japan, doesn't it? And what's the latest award of MHP 2nd G? It just won the Double Platinum prize in SCEJ's PlayStation Awards 2008 ceremonies where developers and publishers were given huge pats on the backs for their excellent PSP, PS3, and/or PS2 games. The event was held just earlier in Japan, with MGS4 and Crisis Core, among others, also bringing home the bacon.

PR - adhocParty Beta Starts In Japan - Image 1After a week's delay, the Ad hoc Party Beta has finally launched on the Japanese PlayStation Network. Now monsters in Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G can par-tay, Ad Hoc style. Ok, that was weak. You get the idea though.

PSP 3000 - Image 1Enterbrain of Japan has finished tallying their results for the total hardware and software sales for the period of March 31 to September 28. This time period marks the first half of 2008's fiscal year in Japan.

So who's on top? If you're asking hardware, that'd be the PSP. Over one and a half million units sold, man! Meanwhile, on the software side of things, it's a different story.
