We've got two bits of news regarding N+ (PSP, DS), the upcoming handheld platform being released by Atari. According to various retail websites, the game is coming out two weeks later than expected, but is ending up cheaper as well. More after the jump!

Wonder what happened to the DS and PSP versions of N+? Previous reports had the game tagged to be released last month, but it seems the game has been delayed for the handhelds. The game is now expected to be released this July 8. More in the full article.

The upcoming platform ninja game from Metanet, N+, will be making its way to the Xbox 360 Live Arcade, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable. It gets kind of confusing since all versions have the same name. But you can bet all three versions aren't as identical as the name. MetaNet and SilverBirch Studios' Flash game port to the Sony PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS, N+ to be published by Atari, is shaping up to be a more epic puzzle game than its first iteration. Gameplay footage is already out as well as some more screenshots of the game. You can find them at the full article.

It looks like European gamers will be getting their hands on N+, the handheld version of MetaNet's popular Flash game N, after all.

According to an admin post on the MetaNet website, N+ will indeed be released in Europe. This comes after an earlier report - which was apparently wrong - that the handheld game would only be coming to the U.S. MetaNet says that the game will be released in Europe, the U.S. and, of course, Canada.

N+ is currently being developed for the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP handheld systems. The remake will include new features such as cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes and level sharing over the ad-hoc PSP system and wireless Nintendo DS connections. Oh, and the ninja doesn't have a name. That was a gaffe on this blogger's part. Thanks to the people who pointed it out.

  

Atari's released the first two screens for its upcoming N+ game on the PSP. As you can probably guess, the two new screens show off some rather intricate stages that need to be traversed in order for our intrepid ninja to survive just a little bit longer.

The game plays out like this: you're a ninja, blessed with super jumping power and speedy moves. You also have one and a half minutes to live. To survive, you have to find your way out of each room you've been inexplicably placed into, avoiding traps to stay alive, collecting gold to lengthen your time limit, and running like hell to get to the exit with key in hand.

You'll also be able to customize levels using a built-in level editor and share your personally constructed levels with friends through the ad-hoc PSP system, which is a nice touch indeed. In any case, look out for N+ to make its way to the PSP (and other consoles) sometime in November.
