Sony has released two dramatic new trailers for NBA 07 featuring The Life Volume 2, originally a PS2 game. The trailers basically show the challenges that basketball stars go through in their personal lives. In the first trailer, Big W grabs the lead role as the star player and as a father. Given his talent, he receives tremendous pressure from his team, and from the franchise owners themselves. However, despite the good turns in his career, he struggles to be a devoted father to his son, who later falls ill. Having his son in comatose, he then has to learn how to cope being the man that his team turns to, while staying strong for his son. The second trailer features Kid, a basketball star hailed as the MVP the previous season. Everything is looking dandy for Kid, with everyone looking up to him as the golden boy of the season. However, tragedy strikes and leaves him with an injured knee. His career is threatened as the knee injury poses to prevent him from playing the rest of the season. He strives to get back on the court and undergoes rehabilitation, but it was not meant to be easy. When he gets back on his feet, he finds that in his absence, a new team dynamic has formed and it pretty much left him out of the picture. But Kid is determined to regain his spot that he unwillingly had to give up because of the injury. And so he makes a comeback for the finals, and he is out to make sure that everyone know he's back. Well, those sure are tearjerking stories. Not your typical toughie trailers, especially for a game as macho as basketball. Then again, it sure is nice to see the soft side in every tough guy. You can check out the trailers yourself at the link below. |

Sony's NBA 07 on the road promotional vehicle with PS2s and PSPs (the better to play NBA 07 with, my dear) is coming to High Point, NC, on September 16 to 17. It was at Riverdale, IL, on September 9 to 10. See a pattern? It's going to all four of the Gus Macker 3v3 Basketball Tournament venues. After High Point, it's heading to Milwaukee (September 23 to 24) and then finally to Lafayette, IN (September 30 to October 1). According to our official QJ Annotated Atlas of North America, all these places are east of Iowa (I'm proud to be an Iowan; don't laugh). This is strictly an East Coast - Midwest kind of tour, and that's good news for those who live in the area: in between Gus Macker stops, the set-up is stopping by some colleges and universities that are more or less along the way. |

L.A. Lakers' eight-time NBA All-Star guard, Kobe Bryant is set to grace the cover of NBA 07 for the PSP and PlayStation2 versions. Bryant, drafted in 1996, made his debut at 18 years old and has since gone on to become one of the most dominant and clutch players in the game. With an point average of 35.4 this year (leading the league), he also recently grabbed the second highest NBA single game point record with 81 against the Toronto Raptors earlier this year. This is not his only accolade however, as he also holds the records for the youngest player to start an NBA All-Star Game, reach the 10,000 point mark and be named to the NBA's All Defensive Team. Now back to the most-anticipated videogame. NBA 07 looks set to improve over the depth and authenticity in last year's game by introducing new features, enhanced gameplay and a inside experience to the life in the league, through Volume 2 of the Life Mode - where players will experience the ups and downs of the NBA and will explore team politics, press conferences, endorsement deals and the relationship between returning characters The Kid and Big W. Bundle this with refine mechanics, Open Shot Indicator, Power Boarding System and a dozen mini-games, NBA 07 is looking very promising. NBA 07, by publisher SCEA, is set for release this fall 2006 and is rated 'E' for Everyone. |

Howdy, NBA fans. Take a gander at these new screenshots of NBA 07 for the PSP. This game's going to be a hot one when it drops, what with the backing of the mighty NBA coupled with the game's many new gameplay modes. The main modes include Season Mode, Conquest mode - where you pick a team and lead them to dominance by challenging and beating other teams from the whole country - and Pick Up. The Pick Up mode is just like your regular pick up game: you choose your players and try to take your opponents to school in a playground-style match. Other modes include Rhythm Dunk, HORSE, and a card trading mode.
With the PSP's wireless capabilities, players can also play head to head with friends or, if you want to, even enemies. Ad Hoc and Infrastructure modes also let you challenge national players.
