It's not everyday that we get fresh film footage for the up and coming film adaptation of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia
video game, that's why we're leaning more towards welcoming this video
interview with Jerry Bruckheimer, that also brings some sneak peek of
the movie in development. |

If you wanna have a look at the upcoming Prince of Persia movie poster,
you'll have to walk in a chick flick for that. In a shopaholic's world,
nonetheless. Mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has decided that he will
debut the Prince's movie poster in the most unlikely of his other
movies - the film adaptation of Legally Blonde-ish, Clueless-typish
Confessions of Shopaholic (starring Isla Fischer). |

A few days into his appointment as the director of the Prince of Persia movie, Mike Newell has finally opened up about his sentiments on the project, and he sure is excited about it. "It's not a video game movie," he said in his enthusiasm. "It's a great story." Certainly a bit of encouraging news to Prince of Persia fans. Do read on to find out more! |

Most people think time is like a river, that flows swift and sure in one direction, but I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I really am and why I say this. Come, and I will tell you a tale like none you have ever heard... Time. That's one iffy subject. When we reminisce about certain events past, we sometimes think about the "what if's" and the "if only's". Well, we were able to explore the idea of turning back time in Prince of Persia's Sands of Time story arc. Find out what we thought about this second PSP entry in the series. |

Latinoreview.com is a site known to videogame movie fans because around a year and a half ago, they managed to acquire an early draft of the Halo movie script and gave it a review. The site's latest victim, er, script review? Prince of Persia.Last month, we reported that a movie version of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time managed to get a director despite it's being delayed 'til the Summer of 2009. However, you're all probably curious about how the movie will treat the beloved franchise of Jordan Mechner, right? Fortunately the scripts reviewer notes that it "reads and feels" like a 9th century Indiana Jones. That's a good thing, right? What's revealed so far is that the concept of time manipulation, and the concept that a limited amount of sand consumed by a Dagger of Time, is included in the movie. The script review also gives out a few characters' names, but since we wouldn't want to spoil anything for you folks, we'll just hide all that behind our "read" link below. Aside from odd names, the script for the movie seems like a step in the right direction. Unfortunately we'll have to wait a bit more to see if the movie will be worth our money. |

Bruckheimer has teamed up with the director of Bad Boys I and II, The Rock, and Pearl Harbor - none other than Michael Bay. And if before, we mentioned that the movie based on the game would be out on 2008, well folks, you'd have to wait a little longer. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is slated for a Summer 2009 release. Movie site, IESB, mentioned that they have confirmed with Disney Studios that they are hoping that Bay will indeed take on the directorial chores for the movie when he is done working with another movie - Transformers. As for what Jordan Mechner has to say about the movie: Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as 'Pirates' [of the Caribbean] did with the theme park ride. We'll update you about the movie as more info comes our way. |

The game Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, developed by Ubisoft Montreal, has already been shipped for both the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation Portable. Rival Swords is essentially the sequel to Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within, and it features the same storyline and dark, gritty gameplay that Prince of Persia: Two Thrones possessed. The Wii version of Rival Swords uses the Wiimote and Nunchuk to perform various moves such as execute speed kills, and perform the Prince's acrobatics, while the PSP version of the game features bonus content like levels and, surprisingly, a multiplayer mode with chariot racing. If you want to pick up the game, it goes for about US$ 49.99 on the Wii and US$ 39.99 on the PSP. If you haven't had the chance to buy Prince of Persia: Two Thrones during its first release, or are simply a fan of the second game of the series, you should really check out this release and see if it appeals to you. |

From Tenchu to Metal Gear Solid to Splinter Cell, the principles of the stealth kill have been laid out as thus:
Don't let the enemy see you. >Don't let the enemy see you. > Oh, for heaven's sake, DON'T let the enemy see you. > You sure the enemy hasn't seen you? Sic him. > Done? Hopefully other enemies haven't seen you, or else it's all over. > Wait, you mean the enemy SAW you? ALERT MODE!!! 99.99... (Stealth Kill Fission Mailed.) Or, just watch how the Prince does it in this GDC 2007 video of Ubisoft's bringover of Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (The Two Thrones) for the PSP. Comes complete with exact button-mashing tutorials, too, as well as his usual fare of acrobatics that's going to knock Raiden's socks off (And yeah, the vid looks a bit hazy. Maybe GameTrailers was capping it off with a not-really-shakycam or something). |

Ubisoft has released a trailer video for their upcoming PSP title, Prince of Persia: Rival Swords. The trailer gives us a peek at the chariot races and the new multiplayer race mode (if you're old enough, think Ben Hur), as well as the Prince's usual death-defying acrobatics. Check it out for yourself below.
In Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, the Prince finally makes his way home to Babylon. Accompanying him is Kaileena, the Empress of Time. What he finds in his kingdom is not the peace he has longed for, but a land ravaged by war. Kaileena is murdered, and when her death unleashes the Sands of Time, the Prince becomes tainted. The Sands of Time have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him. It's a tough order, but who else but the Prince can make things right? Confront your dark side and reclaim your kingdom once Prince of Persia: Rival Swords hits U.S. shores on March 20. |

It's been about three months since the announcement that Prince of Persia: Rival Swords would be delayed for the PSP until 2007. And don't get us started on how long it's been 2007. Ubisoft still hasn't been pretty particular about a release date. But it looks like Pocket Gamer got their mitts on a PSP-specific trailer and four little screenshots (emphasis on "little" - bear with us here), and a little inkling starts to set in: does that mean it's almost done? Well, given the time they had in order to push it out there, it's pretty much expected that they deliver. So what exactly have they been doing to a game that had been finished two years ago? They've been adding stuff that PC fans would "rewind" for. This version will be sporting PSP exclusive content, including chariot racing and multiplayer racing over obstacle courses. It's a general anticipation that the game will be released at late March. And they'd better, because they have the largest development studio in the world and if the movie comes out first before this one does, that would be pretty embarrassing!
