Oxygen Games has announced that ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 has finally shipped in North America for the Sony PSP handheld system. It doesn't have any ninjas in it, but ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 does boast of being "the most realistic golf simulation game to date" via a unique stroke technology that gives players absolute control over every aspect of shot set up and swing. "It's not just about swinging through the motions anymore because ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 puts control in the hands of gamers," stated Jim Scott, CEO of Oxygen Games. "For the first time you can control your shot by changing your weight distribution, opening your stance, or angling the face of your club, just like you would if you were really stepping up to the tee." In ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007, players can shape their handicaps on 18 courses as they go head to head with professional golfers like Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose. The video game also features a Course Designer that allows players to create their own holes and share them online. Players can also take on up to three other gamers tanks to the PSP's wireless capabilities. ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 is rated "E" for Everyone and carries a price tag of US$ 19.99. |

Is there anyone else here who doesn't own a PSP? Dude, if you're reading a PSP blog, chances are, you've already got one (maybe even two - one used for homebrew, the other with continuous firmware updates). But whether or not you have the said handheld, no one's stopping you for getting one. Kikizo is making someone's new year even brighter by giving away a ceramic-white PSP unit in their contest. The winner gets not just a brand new PSP but also the latest golf-sim from Oxygen Interactive ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007. What formats is ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 available for, besides PSP? A) PC, PS2, Xbox B) Xbox 360, Virtual Boy That seems easy enough. I'd put my bets on D. Maaaan, you can never go wrong with Game Gear. Hahaha! If you know the real answer, just click on the "Read" link below and swing over to check the rest of the contest mechanics. |

In our last update for ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007, we brought you guys the TV ad for the game -- which (and we think we can all agree here) didn't really give significant info about the game other than the release date. Personally, I doubt we'd gather more info about the game from a buncha screens! If you were pissed at the TV ad, you don't have to complain no more 'coz we have with us right now a whole buncha screens that'll actually let you see how the game will look on your precious handhelds. Showcasing the landscape of Phoenix Heights, you'll see Juan (exotic golfer with an equally exotic name) teeing off in the flats and stumps with every par and hole. The screens also show a bit of info on the game's controls. Just a few more days left before the game hits the shelves so we recommend you brush up on your ProStroke knowledge by checking out the screens below. ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 is set to tee off on your PSP's come November 10th. More screens at the "Full Article". |

While it's all too easy to come up with tons of sexual puns for the game's title (ProStroke, and what with all the balls and clubs), we'll keep those thoughts to ourselves and try to keep things clean. Just give us a few seconds to filter out the puns: 5...4...3...2...1.Alright, let's talk about ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007's TV stint instead, shall we? So. Xbox and PS2 users have already cried "Fore", and now, ProStroke Golf has teed off on TV as well! Today we show you guys the official TV ad for ProStroke, where they got people from various golf magazines to comment on the game. Naturally, one of the commenters just HAD to describe the game as a "stroke of genius". Anyhoo, the 30-second ad doesn't really reveal anything about the game itself, you just have a few magazines giving their comments (in phrases) about the game and hyping it up. Well, you guys know how the whole television business works so that's that. But if you do wanna see the ad, we've put it up for download below. ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 is set to hit the shelves on November 10th. Download: [ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 tv ad] Buy: [ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007] |

While the word is that ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 isn't slated for release until this November 10, Oxygen Interactive isn't about to leave the waiting fans gasping for news on this soon-to-be released game title, and were kind enough to release some screenies for us to enjoy as we count down to launch day. These are pics of the Belfry and Lake Nona maps. The Belfry, or De Vere Belfry as its full name is, is located in England and owned by the Irish billionaire Sean Quinn, "The Belfry" being the more common name. It currently has three golf courses:

Along with the announcement of the final release date for ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007, Oxygen Interactive has also decided to celebrate this by releasing the game's PSP play guide to show how the game's control system ("ProStroke") is translated into Sony's handheld's system. Oxygen prides themselves on this ProStroke control system which allows players to have more control over, and give more power to, their swings and shots, allowing you to pull off chip shots and backspins, etc. The kind of shots you make also won't come from the game's menu, you can create this yourself by mixing and matching techniques and coming up with combinations for executing different shots. Here are some of the shots that you can make in the game: Chip and Run - This means the ball is airborne for a very short time and much of the ball movement involves rolling. When this happens, it's best to keep the ball low, and to do this, push the analogue stick forward to hit the ball higher up. As the ball rolls a long way, reduce the power - often less than a third of the amount of power given on the target marker is required. Punch Shot - best used when faced with high winds or overhead branches, this shot requires hitting the ball with a low trajectory. How-to: In Swing Mode, move the ball to the back of your stance by pressing down on the D-pad. This means that the ball will be struck whilst the club head is still moving downwards and results in a lower trajectory shot. The further back in the stance, the lower the shot. Flop Shot - When playing a short shot toward the pin with a bunker between you and the flag, the safest shot is the Flop. Almost like the opposite of a punch shot, here you play the ball with a very high trajectory. To do a flop, move the ball to your front by pressing up on the D-pad in the Swing view. This way, the ball will be struck by a rising club head and will result to a high trajectory shot with a soft, vertical landing. ProStroke Golf 2007 is scheduled for release November 10th. We will update you as soon as we get more details. |

For those golfers out there who want to just keep on playing anytime and anywhere, be glad to know that there is a PSP version of ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007, and here are some of the latest screenshots for you to enjoy. ProStroke Golf aims to be "the Pro Evolution Soccer of golf games" and seeks to be able to let gamers experience making that perfect swing and that perfect shot as if they were actually out on the green. Nearing completion, and set for release by October 4 this year, this title allows the player to have a first-hand perspective of the ball instead of watching your character swing from a third-person view, thus allowing for a more in-depth gaming experience. The game features 18 fairways, two of which are based on actual locations. More screenshots after the Jump! |

Time to grab some balls, turn on the PSP and play with yourself - or with friends - as ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 gets ready to tee off this month. Previously known as World Tour Golf, Prostroke changed its name to refer to their original gameplay system. The Prostroke control scheme does away with the conventional clicking system associated with golf fames, and allows the player to set up his shots, down to stance shifting, weight distribution and trajectory changes. Prostroke Golf also has the following other features: • International Talent: Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Ben Curtis, Tomas Bjorn, Colin Montgomerie, Ian Woosnam, Mark O'Meara , and Zhang Lian-Wei. • TV commentators : Sam Torrance, Ian Baker-Finch and Alan Green. • Courses from a range of spectacular locations across the globe, including The Brabazon at The Belfry and Lake Nona. • Game Modes range from Quick Match Play (3-18 holes) through multiplayer to a comprehensive career mode. • Caddy Feature offering Golf Pro training exercises, enabling you to add the advanced techniques of the pros. • Course and tournament creator, allowing you to design and develop your own courses. The game also allows for single or wireless multiplayer games on the PSP, so there's no excuse to run over to your friend's house and beat him with your virtual golf clubs. ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007 will be hitting shelves on August 18 for the PSP, PS2, XBox and PC. |

I know what your thinking - another Golf game for the PSP? Well, your wrong. Oxygen Interactive have decided to change the name of World Tour Golf for the PSP to ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007. The name change comes after gaming circles have applauded the game's groundbreaking control mechanic, ProStroke, which will make it one of the most realistic Golf games out there compared to whats already on the market. Oxygen Interactive felt the name change will suit a more worldwide audience, as World Tour Golf was a more European title. Although it may cause temporary confusion, Oxygen Interactive are confident in their choice and know that as in sport they must play to their strengths. Oxygen's CEO Jim Scott said: 'Continuing with a generic name that had started as a working title short-changed the game. Pro Stroke Golf, on the other hand, puts the game's greatest feature right into the title, and makes it clear why this is the most interesting golf title this decade.'
