For the weekend directly leading up to the E3 event, it sure was jampacked with news, wasn't it? If you've been hanging around the industry for a while now, you'd know that the usual occurrence during this time of the year (or whenever there is an event, actually), is to have some kind of drought in news. But no, not this year. Everyone's just as pumped up about the upcoming event, it didn't matter if the news that came out were more on the rumors and speculations and "leaks" side. We don't mind. We know we're in for the big stuff. Are you ready?

While most of the coders out there work within the same circles, one of them seems to be standing on the outside, causing his own storm of sorts. External from most of the drama, StrmnNrmn is happily living in his own world, giving us one of the greatest homebrew emulator projects for the PSP: the Nintendo 64 emulator, Deadalus PSP. As a tribute to Daedalus' third year anniversary this month, here's your QuickGuide for reminiscing (or catching up!) on the life and times of StrmnNrmn so far. Strap into your seats, we're heading into the eye of the storm!

Now let's point the spotlight to one of the scene's most high-profile collection of superdevs. With their countless contributions to the grateful homebrew community and an unhappy Sony, it's only fitting that we pay tribute to "homebrew without a clue" - the great irony known as Team Noobz.

We've entered into a new month, and you know what that means for our weekly feature articles. That's right, it's time to get zipped! And just to recap, this month marks a rather special one because we've branched out beyond the PSP handheld, and has, for the first time, done both QuickGuide and How-To issues for the iPhone. Just do note, too, that this won't be the last either.

Today he's the man of the hour. Actually, he's been the man of the hour the past all hours of  the week as the scene awaits for the release of an exploit that is of an avian variety, sans the flu. Let's ditch the guesswork, shall we? Am sure you've all figured this out by now anyway. For this edition of the QJ QuickGuide Who's Who, we're setting our sights on Davee. Yes, it's you! The homebrew community sure has a lot of memorable icons, each one of them quirkier than the next. Enter FreePlay. Yes, I'm sure you've heard of him - what with talks of the PSP-3000 exploit pervading the air recently, FreePlay's name has been thrown around a lot these days. So, following last week's Who's Who QuickGuide on MaTiAz, we now venture into the GripShift exploit's other half. How well do you know this free radical, anyway? His influence in the homebrew community runs deeper than you think!

From this issue of the QuickJump QuickGuide, we will be rolling out our thanks to the folks responsible for this new wave of brew development that all started with the release of the GripShift Exploit. We have several characters going into play for now, but as the devs deserve to each get their own time under the spotlight, we'll be focusing on them one by one. For this week's QJQG: Who's Who edition, we center our sights on the one-half of the GripShift Exploit team, MaTiAz.
