PSP

The wait is over as arcade-style racing speeds into your PSP with the release of Midway's RUSH. You can now perform death-defying stunts and high-flying jumps in the PSP-exclusive game mode called Stunt Arena. If you got mad stunt skills to show off, bring it to the arena and watch your golden tokens pile up to unlock extra content.

And if you simply feel like going on a head-to-head wireless race with a friend, then the Battle Race mode is just what the speed doctor ordered. It's guaranteed to test your maneuvering skills as the track is riddled with performance-boosting power-ups. Nothing can be more exciting than seeing your opponent try so hard to keep up with you.

The game also features new money cruise and multiplayer missions, which you can play if you feel like getting back the cars that have been stolen from you. It's payback time!

Rush PSP

Midway Games has today released the first trailer for their upcoming PSP game Rush, which is due to hit shelves on November 13. Rush is one of those adrenaline-fuelled racing titles where the more daring you are, the better you will do. As we previously reported, the portable version of Rush won't just be a scaled down version of the home console titles with less features and a shoddy control system. Midway has put a lot of effort into this game and will feature content unique to the PSP version.

The aim of the game? To get back 30 cars that have been stolen from you, rather like the movie "Gone In 60 Seconds", steal and chop up the cars of your enemies, get back your street cred, and enjoy music from Twista and Lil' Kim' and more. Now doesn't that sound easy?

This 14Mb trailer for Rush may be just like a big advertisement, and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if I saw this on TV tomorrow. The trailer shows just some of the spectacular stunts you can achieve with the combination of Rush, a PSP, and a bit of bottle. You even get a glimpse at the game's wireless head-to-head action feature. You have a fast car, the cops on your tail, and the whole of L.A. at your fingertips. Do you abide by the rules of the road or take to the air?

RushRush from Midway Games is being ported over to PSP, and we heard from some of you that the graphics "suck" or were "rushed," but we also heard from some of you that the graphics are fine and the game isn't just graphics: you like the gameplay, features, and fun of the game. But enough about the controversial graphics; let's move on to the features (this isn't a Rush screenshot post).

According to our source, the PSP port of Rush has some offerings other Rush versions never had (as well as some of the usual goodies):
  • Stunt Arena: We got a number of positive feedback about this feature: you show off your stunt moves on ramps and loops and stunt stuff like that. You get the picture.
  • Battle Race: WiFi race with power-ups.
  • Money Cruise: 30 extra cruise missions in the Story Mode lets you earn more.
  • Multiplayer Cruise: Every cruise mission can be played WiFi.
  • 50+ WiFi Races: The multiplayer cruise missions and street races total to over 50.
  • Steal, Pimp, Modify: There are over 50 rides that you can race, steal, or trick-out. These include tuner, exotic, and muscle cars licensed from car manufacturers.
  • Open World: LA, Santa Monica, South Bay, etc. Find those shortcuts.
Get back the 30 cars stolen from you, steal and chop up the cars of your enemies, get back your street cred, and enjoy music from Twista and Lil' Kim' and more. That sounds like a rush.

zoom!

Two things that we have on Midway's Rush for the PSP. First, its release date has been moved and finalized from September to  November 27. Second, we have six new smoking screenshots of the game, which, by the looks of it, is all set to race on to your PSPs.

The popular RUSH racing series retains all the spectacular stunts, crazy jumps, and intense action that the console versions offer while at the same time adding in some exclusive PSP content and Wi-fi multiplayer racing. Revolving around the storyline of cars stolen from the players at the beginning of the game, they then have to drive through five different courses set in LA to recover what was taken from them. And some race it will be, cause we're talking 50 stolen wheels here on the line!

There will also be 30 new cruise missions where players can earn money. This PSP version will have the exclusive stunt arena, a new mode where the players can show off their driving skills. Expect this arena to give you that challenge as it is full of ramps, jumps, and many other accessories that players can use to throw their cars into the air and perform amazing tricks.

Included as special features are the soundtrack from many of hip-hop's biggest names (including unreleased tracks from 'Lil Kim and Twista), over 50 cars to customize, and drive through recreations of Santa Monica, Hollywood, South Bay, South Central, and downtown Los Angeles.

In the meantime, enjoy these sizzling screens.
