Those who are hankering for more PSP games but can't exactly afford premium-priced titles at the moment can check out some new deals from Toys "R" Us. UMDs of PaRappa the Rapper and SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2, both SCEA titles, are now enjoying a hefty 50% slash off their prices, letting PSP gamers enjoy an early Christmas. The hip-hoppin' music title PaRappa The Rapper is now only US$ 14.99, way cheaper than its original US$ 29.99 pricetag. Now even more gamers can bust their moves in tune with Master Onion's Rap. For those who'd prefer more nitty-gritty action, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 can now be bought at a paltry US$ 9.99. The Read link below leads to the SOCOM page while this link takes you to the PaRappa page. |

Still don't know what new titles to buy for your PlayStation Portable unit? Well, maybe these two new demos would help you decide. Yup, we have two for you today and they are for video games Hot PXL and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2. It should be remembered that another demo for Bravo 2 was also released a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, we guess we really don't have to talk about SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2 very much as you are probably familiar with it. After all, it's a part of the successful SOCOM franchise - the series that has players thinking where to put their team members best before assaulting enemy terrorists. Hot PXL, on the other hand, is one of the more unique titles that we've come across in recent times. It's unique in such a way that it offers players a lot of mini games, providing a different gameplay experience every single time. Although, some have not warmed up to the title and oftentimes refer to it as a clone of Atari's Wario Ware. Anyway, we guess we'll just let you decide for yourselves on that one. The download link for the demos can be found below. Download: Hot PXL demo Download: SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2 demo |

Well this was a long time in coming. The game's been out for some time in the U.S. (and around a week in Europe), but it seems the demo for Zipper Interactive and Sony's SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 has just been released. The game pits your squad of Navy SEALs against all manner of terrorists and other assorted baddies. As with any game in the SOCOM series though, it's also about tactical placement of your forces to ensure victory against the enemy, as well as a liberal sprinkling of gunfire against enemy encampments. The demo is 42 MB in size, so expect to spend a little time before you can try the game out. Still, if you're the type who insists on trying a game before buying it, the wait shouldn't be a problem. Enjoy! |

Good news readers! The official PlayStation site for the UK has just updated its release calendar for PSP and PS3 titles and we so love to share it with you. And from the look of things, May will be the month to watch out for.On the PSP side, fans can kiss their waiting woes goodbye as SOCOM: U.S. NAVY SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 is slated for a May release. Actually, the FPS video game has been available for Continental U.S. ever since November of 2006 though we guess that it's about time for our UK counterparts to join in the fun. The new game features a truck-load of improvements from the last version, among which include multiplayer support. PS3 fans, on the other hand, get a combo as both Heavenly Sword and Lair were listed. Unlike SOCOM, these PS3 titles haven't been launched anywhere else, so this is a first for them, unless Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) says otherwise. And then there's Lair... need we say more? Heavenly Sword is a marriage of movie and video game development. It uses real-life actors, including Andy Serkis (a.k.a., Smeagol / Gollum), to make the movements and facial expressions of in-game characters more life-like. The game is about a dying girl who embarks on a last journey to topple the tyrant king of her land. If you think launch day was good, May is definitely going to be better. As they say, "It's gonna be HUGE!" |

Here's some good news for all the PSP owners out there. According to IGN, new demos, including ones for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 will be made available for download through the official PSP site or the PlayStation website in the coming weeks. More demos from both first-party and third-party developers are also in the offing, so watch out for those. The Killzone: Liberation demo is there now so if you're looking for something to try you might want to consider getting that one. You can also download firmware 3.10, which is also available now, but if you're a homebrew fan we don't know why you'd want to do that. Just so you know, though, the latest firmware update from Sony contains a new Dynamic Normalizer feature which automatically adjusts sound settings. |

Every time is a good time to have freebies. So we reckoned, why not today? With that said, we're happy to announce that Sony just made its PSP Content Pack for the month of January available. To those of you who love their handhelds but somehow shun away the company, be informed that Sony releases free goodies for the PSP every now and then.
And take note, these are not just any kind of goodies. Among others, the download include behind the scenes videos, trailers, screenshots, and even exclusive interviews. Aside from PSP-related content, Sony sometimes throws in console related stuff so this is really jam-packed! Oh crap God, we'll stop right here before we come up with even worse puns. The content pack for January is around 178MB and can be downloaded via the Read link below. It includes the following content:

Everyone loves freebies. And by everyone, I mean every. single. living. breathing. human. being. Am I right? Or is there any one of you out there who would contest that given the choice of getting something for free or having to shell out money for it, you would choose the latter? Eh? Naaah, didn't think so.So anyway, since we're on the topic of freebies here (way to spoil the intro, right? Nyaha!), Sony has just released their PSP content pack, and whaddya know, it's for free! So, what's included in this month's content pack? Wha'? SOCOM, LocoRoco and Star Wars goodies?! You don't say! Seriously though, caffeine-loaded hype aside, this month's content pack packs in (get it? pack - packs in? Nevermind.) loads of pretty neat stuff: you have wallpapers, trailers, and the LocoRoco Christmas demo (although I'm sure most of you Roco-fanatics already have the Japanese version). So if you already have that, you can still enjoy the rest of the pack's contents, which are as follows:
