As wee little QJ younguns, we used to love that stupid ninja who had an unlimited number of shuriken to lob around. Now, we're glad to see that The Legend of Kage has come back from the land of the dead to grace our PSPs in the upcoming American release of Taito Legends Power-Up!A representative from Destineer Studios confirmed that the previously European-only release would be headed to U.S. shores. While this is great news for Taito fans looking for a compendium of games on their PSP, Xbox 360, and PC owners will still have to wait for any word of a Legends release for them. In the meantime, we've listed the games that'll be part of the lineup for Taito Legends Power-Up below. Enhanced versions indicate that the game will be getting both the original version of the game and an updated game, though you can assume that it's going to be a graphical upgrade beyond anything else. Taito is one of those videogame game companies that every gamer has encountered at least once in his or her life. With a history that spans more than 30 years, Taito has a whole truckload of great games in their back catalog, and so it's not that surprising to know that they've released a collection of the most popular and most successful games that they put out in their glory days. The collection is called Taito Legends Power-Up, and it contains a whopping 25 classic games - including titles such as New Zealand Story, Phoenix and Space Invaders (no Bubble Bobble, though) - packed into one PSP UMD. Of those 25 games, four titles have been given a make-over: Cameltry, Legend of Kage, Balloon Bomber and Crazy Balloon. If you're wondering how these games fare visually, just check out the screenshots we have below. Of the four games, it looks like Legend of Kage had the most drastic change in appearance, with Kage and his enemies actually getting upgraded to 3D. Balloon Bomber also doesn't fall behind in the graphic upgrade category. What was originally a game that featured a cyan-colored thing that resembled a tank shooting yellow bullets at what looked like fishes tied to balloons has been turned into something with graphics that, in our opinion, kinda resemble those from Metal Slug. Both the enhanced Cameltry and Crazy Balloon games are also looking great in the visuals department. Right now we still don't have word on when this game will be seeing a US release, but rest assured that we'll be keeping an eye out on any updates regarding this topic. If you have any thoughts or opinions or just want to talk about your favorite old-school arcade and console games, don't hesitate to leave a comment. |
