Hoping to get an early start for The Sims 2: Castaway by Electronic Arts for the Wii, PSP, PS2, and DS? We've got another video demo available today hosted by The Sims 2: Castaway producer Ben Bell.

Bell will be walking the viewers through the game's highlights, such as your ability to make your very own homes from scratch, or taming the local wildlife as friends/pets (hey, it beats buying 'em from a store). You may want to keep an eye on the island's chimpanzees, though - they're known to be mischievous.

Bell also lets loose with details for some of The Sims 2: Castaway's secrets. While he can't say what exactly, Bell hints that the island you're marooned on used to be the home of an ancient civilization. It will be up to you to unlock the mystery behind this, and how it will directly affect your Sims' lives. Enjoy the video, and be sure to ready up for The Sims 2: Castaway's US release this October 22!

What do you do when you find yourself stuck in a deserted island? We get to check out the idea - without being a victim of an accident at sea - in Electronic Arts' upcoming video game, The Sims 2: Castaway. Today's video update shows us just what we'll be doing in the game: survive, explore, find other shipwrecked people, and find a way to go back to civilization.

In case you haven't the slightest idea what we're talking about, The Sims 2: Castaway is the third the spin-off of the bestselling god game. In today's video, we see what the Sims will be up to in the island. Fishing, creating a cozy looking tropical house, building a fire, and exploring the island seem like fun, though we're sure there's more drama in there... much like an episode of Survivor.

Anyway, check out the video and see if it suits your taste. The Sims 2: Castaway will be coming this fall to a PlayStation Portable, Wii, DS, and PS2 near you so be sure to brush up on your survival skills.

From the sleepy town of Pleasantview, our friendly and ever-lovable Sims find themselves mysteriously washed ashore, miles from civilization and with little hope of rescue. Plot sounds familiar? Well, that's the story of the newest console spin-off of The Sims 2 franchise by EA Games.

Separated from the comfortable suburban life that the Sims are used to, they have to rely on their wits and ingenuity (with help from the player) to survive on a deserted island with no chance of calling on the local pizza delivery service to help satisfy their hunger needs.

Challenges such as finding shelter and gathering food for yourself will keep your Sim busy for a good part of the game. The video also shows the usual interaction the Sims have with one another in their usual Simlish language. Who knows? You may even find a way for your Sim to get off that island.

The Sims 2: Castaway is the third spin-off from The Sims Stories series. It's set to be released this October 22 for the Nintendo DS, Wii, Playstation 2 and the PSP.
