While the PSP version of The Warriors is already out in stores, there are still some gamers out there who have yet to decide whether or not to spend money on this title. Hopefully, these new screenshots will help you decide. Oh, and check out the UK packshot for the game, too. It's on the right. This collaborative effort from Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar Toronto brings The Warriors to the Sony PSP. Based on the 1979 Paramount film of the same name, this M-rated title takes players from one end of New York to the other as they fight to stay alive. It's not going to be a cakewalk, too - all that stands between The Warriors (that's you) and survival are 20 miles and thousands of street gang members. With everybody and their mother gunning after you, there's really no turning back. All you can do is brace yourself for some righteous ass-kicking in this free-roaming beat 'em up extravaganza. The rest of the screens await after the jump! |

Rockstar Games has recently announced that the PSP version of the PS2 game spin-off of the movie adaptation of the book, The Warriors (phew!), is now available at retail stores all over North America. Selling for US$ 20, it's a beat-em-up which is perfect for both the PSP-toting baby boomer, the now-grown-up flower children and hippies, or just about anyone who feels like going retro. Just remember, kiddies, this game has an "M" rating, so yeah, the age groups cited above seem just about right. In the meantime, European hippies and baby boomers will have to wait until February 23 for this title to be made available over there. Meanwhile, we advise reading up on additional information about Coney Island, gang culture, and psycho mimes. |

You've already met The Warriors both in video and action figure form, so you must know them pretty well by now, eh? Well, maybe not on the PSP front. Jeux-France have managed to get hold of a load more of The Warriors PSP screens for us straight from the developers over at Rockstar Canada. The game is set in '70's New York, and has been adapted from the 1979 film also called 'The Warriors'. Taking a break from the graffiti advertising campaign which may or may not have been instigated by Rockstar, the game will feature two player co-operative Wi-Fi play which should be very entertaining. I must say, these screenshots are quite different from the ones we've posted before. These screenshots look like they come from a set of cinematics, as they feature no in-game display and tend to look slightly better in the graphics department. Anyway, enough of this idle chat, take a look for yourself! Find the rest of the screenshots after the jump! |

The Warriors get nerfed! Nope, they were not hit by the nerf bat. They were turned into... Action figures! From Mezco Toyz comes the mini versions of Luther, Cleon, Cochise and Ajax - all in their 70's retro glory. Along with them are the Baseball Furies, in the face paint of your choice. They come in clean and dirty variants (whatever that means), and some come in limited editions. The limited edition blue faced Baseball Fury retails at US$ 749.99, while the others range from US$ 17.99 to US$ 449.99. See the rest of the crew after the jump! |

Okay, first off, it's either Rockstar is pulling off a Sony advertising boo-boo OR one fanboy decided to do it for them. Yes boys and girls, what you're seeing above is a graffiti ad (if we could still call it that) for The Warriors spotted by PSPFanboy's Andrew Yoon whilst walking along downtown New York. If you could still remember back in January last year, graffiti ads were found all over the walls of various U.S. cities (and even Amsterdam) to promote the PSP - much to the dismay of locals who got irate upon seeing the ads. During that whole fiasco, there was the issue of whether Sony really was responsible for the ads popping up or whether they were just mere "fandalisms" that the company wasn't aware of. Same thing applies here. Although Rockstar isn't exactly the type of company to worry over such things (hello, GTA lawsuits?), the fact that the company's office is located in NYC could fan the possible flames they might get from such sightings. But whether this is the company's doing or just some random fanboy vandalizing the streets of NY for kicks, no one knows for sure. One thing you could say though, Rockstar couldn't get any more 'street' than this. Harhar. |

Ever wonder how life was a street thug in the '70s? Rockstar Games will take us on another trip to gangland with this new PSP port of The Warriors. We can look past the funky hair and the tacky vests when we remember that this was based on a 1979 movie of the same name.
Anyway, you saw the official trailer just a couple of days ago. Now this new video features just how much violence it takes to make it on the virtual streets. Also, here's some helpful info to get to know the Warriors:

While PS2 and Xbox owners have been able to take it out to the streets for quite some time now, the PSP crowd is yet to wait for Rockstar Games' The Warriors to be released on the handheld. Don't worry, it's not a long wait. The portable version will hit retail next week, February 13, and to keep your street rage on a leash (for now) here's the trailer for the game. Now if you're wondering what a GTA would look like with a late-70s twist, then here's your ticket. Coney Island was never this colorful with pink, pin-striped dudes, and baseball-uniformed fellas. Get your brass-knuckles ready, we're taking it out to the streets! |

Remember that 1979 movie which involved Coney Island, street gangs, and psycho mimes? Yeah, the one that Rockstar Games turned into a video game for the Xbox1 and the PS2 in 2005? Well, if you remember all those and you're up for going a bit retro, then you should be happy to know that The Warriors will soon be moving into PSP territory by February 13. Besides reliving those moments in 2005 (or 1979, depending on when you were born), the PSP port of this game will also feature co-op gameplay via wi-fi connection, or other two-player modes of the game. Another bonus feature for the PSP version would be the unlockable side-scroller "Armies of the Night" mode. For US $ 20, it might make a pretty good addition for your UMD library. |

Perhaps you've remembered watching "The Warriors" back in the 70s, but for those who weren't even born yet (me! me!), maybe you've seen the show once in HBO (coz' I sure do remember watching it).Either way, this movie adapted from Sol Yurick's 1965 novel pitted a totally innocent gang against a whole city of gangs who were after them. GameSpot's been able to grab an early copy of Rockstar Games' PSP port from the PS2 adaptation of the movie. They say it's pretty much alike in every way possible. Only this time multiplayer mode is accessible by Wi-Fi (much like Sid Meier's Pirates! four-way Wi-Fi battles) for a two-player odyssey, and the unlockable armies-of-the-night mode in reminiscent Double Dragon-style is already reachable from the get-go. It does sport some ghosting effects in really huge action situations with the occasional stutter, but perhaps the US$ 19.99 price tag is more than tempting to allow PSP players to get the game anyway. For a solid conversion of the original PS2 game, The Warriors isn't half bad to have. It would be even better once the ghosting issue get resolved. If you're a cult follower of The Warriors legacy, this could just be a chance to re-experience that unforgettable, painful trek back to Coney Island. The Warriors is set to be shipped next month. |

For the prudent shoppers who waited after the Christmas shopping craze, your efforts paid off. We were scoping out the Gamestop website earlier, when we chanced upon this hot deal going down. They're now selling the The Warriors title for the PSP (ported from the PS2) for the reasonable sum of US$ 19.99...that's 20 bucks basically.Yeah, we know - some of you might already know about the pricing from as far back as November. Just consider this a gentle reminder for the guys who've been busy with other matters, and a heads-up for the guys hearing this for the first time. The pre-release has been out since the 2nd, so make sure to call your local dealers first before running over. Also remember to check out the price drop for Liberty City Stories. |
