A few new screens for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 have arrived on our desk today, showing more of the same (golf) ball-whacking gameplay that golf fans can expect to arrive on their Sony handhelds this October. As we've said before, 07 promises more action on the fairway, more competitive rivalries in the clubhouse, more minigames to play while on the bus - and less loading time. The game features the most lifelike Tiger yet, thanks to Universal Capture (UCAP) face-scanning and motion-capture tech. Throw in fourteen more of the world's top golfers, some of the Tour's famous courses, and multiplayer tournaments... You may never have to watch the game on TV again, 'cause you'll be too busy whacking your own (golf) balls instead. Check out our banner screenshot showing a newspaper clipping. "New Face On Tour." Yeah. that's gonna be you, babe. Buy: [Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07] |

You whack a ball with a stick, and follow it around. Until it drops into a hole. Boom! The crowd goes wild, a birdie's been scored, and the gators in the pond are munching on your lost balls. Some people actually call it fun. Especially if you get to play as your favorite golfer like Mr. Nike himself, Tiger Woods. If you're excited for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, choose your console, because it's coming out for the PSP, PS3, PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, and Gamecube soon. So now, we're giving you a refresher course on what you can expect for the game. We'll just sum everything up below:

EA hosted a demo event for the PSP version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour '07 at the Cog Hill Golf Club, just outside of Chicago, and IGN gratefully accepted the invitation to get their hands on the title, oven if only for a short time. While that short play time didn't leave any room to explore all the features of the latest addition to the Tiger Woods series, it still provided a chance for them to see a few of the new features in action. The new Swing Path Meter provides feedback on the power and accuracy of the player's swing. IGN found playing with the analog nub "surprisingly intuitive" and easy to get the hang of. To them the swing mechanism felt like a combination of the analog control of the present with the swing meter of the past (you know, the old-school one where you set the power on the "upswing" and set the accuracy on the "downswing"?). They only had a chance to play the Cog Hill Course - in the game, not out on the real fairway - and the Shooting Gallery minigame, but both seemed enough for them to say that Tiger Woods 07 on the PSP "looked and felt almost as solid as the current-gen console version of the title." IGN was particularly pleased with the short load times, especially compared to the first Tiger title on the system. Shooting Gallery is revealed to be a minigame where the player breaks panes of glass with golf shots. A "nice, pick-up-and-play option when you don't have the time to play Pebble," says IGN. The big new addition is the Career Mode that follows the new FedEx Cup. It kinds works differently than "traditional" career modes in the past, designed to provide "much-needed" rivalry and excitement to the game. Rather than scattered competitive events followed by the competition for the top prize itself, the career mode will have more of a "beginning, middle and end-of-season" feel to its progress. Players will compete against more than 100 Tiger wannabes to earn regular season FedEx points, and only the top 30 will have a shot at the title. "Excitement" and "golf" together may feel rather unfamiliar to non-golf fans (try watching a whole game on ESPN!), but this mode revamp could inject that tension of fighting your way to the top into this title. Other revealed features include online play and the EA-trademark create-your-own-player Game Face system. |

Here be some screenies of mister Tiger Woods and his golf loving buddies from the EA Sports golf game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the PSP. I know, I know, we've already posted some screens before, we've even placed a video, but the more the merrier right? Upon observation one can get weirded out by that glassy-eyed look on Tiger's face. But that's being a bit too nit-picky. The game isn't exactly as good a looker as Crysis is, but given that it's a handheld release, it looks to be well above par. Hopefuly the gameplay will match the nice images. Read on for more screenshots. |

Universal Capture or UCAP is EA's latest facial imaging technology that combines head scanning, motion capture, and video capture to create life-like characters you see in video games. This, according to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 producer Steve Arnold, is how they transformed Tiger Woods from flesh-and-blood to pure pixels. And from the looks of it, Tiger worked a lot harder at this than on actual golf tournaments! Anyways, it's a great video to watch. Even if you're no golf fan, you may want to see how its done. You never know when you might become a video game character yourself. Download: [Tiger Woods 07: UCAP Technology and Game Trailer] |

Electronic Arts (EA) and the PGA Tour have today announced an extension on their licensing agreement for six more years. This is great news for the Tiger Woods PGA Tour video game fans, as this licensing agreement has a direct impact on the franchise which has been going for more than 15 years now. Because of this agreement, expect the franchise to continue until 2012, at the very least.Considering EA's Tiger Woods PGA Tour, one of the better (and top selling) golf video games with the next in the series (07) due this October, the extension could not have come at a better time. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, featuring vast improvements and offering features like the all-new shooting gallery and visual enhancements, will be available for the Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PlayStation2, PSP, PC and mobile phones. |

If you don't know anything about golf, take comfort that at least you know Tiger Woods. His new game for the PSP titled Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, would hopefully get you into the sport. In this game, you can challenge the world's top golfers (yes, there are other golfers aside from Tiger) like Ian Poulter, Vijay Singh, John Daly and Luke Donald, in an all new PGA Tour Mode. Work on your game through mid-week training and unique challenges, then take on the best PGA TOUR pros in tournaments in the chase for The FedEx Cup.Feel like a pro while playing in twelve fantasy courses like Bethpage Black, Pinehurst No. 2, Cog Hill, Pasatiempo, and Fancourt Links. And what is a pro without the gear (cough * sponsors * cough). The innovative character creation tool is revamped with more apparel and specialty items. Completing the experience are the announcing dream team of David Feherty and Gary McCord provide commentary and irreverent observations during every round. The game has undergone a lot of enhancements in its release this time around. Expect a new Swing Path Meter that displays shot type and shot accuracy info to aid you in your game. While new Power Boosts gives you more choices when putting from distinct distances. There are also graphical upgrades that include improved lighting, texturing and mapping, plus a new menu system and camera modifications. There are also PSP exclusive mini-games like Shooting Gallery game and Putting Frenzy. |
