Any good space marine knows that when you're pinned down in a heavy firefight, calling upon a giant mech to rain laser death upon your enemies is usually the accepted course of action. After all, nothing says domination than a towering hulk of plasma-spitting machinery stomping across the battlefield to incinerate enemy troops - and we see this in practice with this latest screenshot update of the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command for the PSP and DS. These screenshots, coming specifically from the PSP version, are visually impressive. Not only are the environments gritty and in keeping with the war-torn world of Warhammer 40K, the epic mythology that makes the series so unique and appealing is also painstakingly emulated on the units. And especially with the big mech lumbering around. You can't miss that. With visuals of this caliber, as well as an already awesome license going for it, THQ's Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command is certainly looking to be a must-buy on both handhelds. Enjoy the screenshots! |

Halo 3 isn't the only game to sport super human space marines. THQ packs these space marines by the squadrons in their upcoming turn-based strategy game based on the Warhammer 40k series, Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command, for the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP.
The game features two Space Marine Chapters against two squads from the Legions of Chaos in up to 15 single-player missions and 9 multiplayer maps. The single-player campaign gives you control over the Imperium's Ultramarine squad, as they stave off the Legions of Chaos in 15 missions. The trailer definitely encompasses the mythology of the Warhammer 40k series very well, with the never ending enmity of the Marines and Chaos as the focal point of the story. It plays up the role of both sides of the Space Marines and the Legions of Chaos and gives justice to the game's table top origins as well as its other spin-offs. Players and fans of the series can expect the game to hit the shelves this November 16 on both handheld platforms. Until then enjoy watching this very engaging trailer of these interstellar warriors in action. |
