No, there won't be any new screenshots for you this time around. Instead, we've got something better. We have here a gameplay video of Warhammer Warcry: Battle for Altuma. Finally, you'll get to see for yourself exactly what this game is all about. Now, although the vid may be kinda grainy, what's important is that it's viewable, and it pretty much shows you the real deal. Watch carefully and you'll see how to block an attack, combat tactics to employ, and a whole lot more. It seems to be an actual game between a player and the computer, so this should make it a fun watch. Anyways, you can download the vid right here. Enjoy! For those waiting for Namco Bandai's Warhammer WarCry: Battle for Atluma, we've just gotten our hands on some new screenshots to give you guys a better idea of what to expect when this game launches in about a week, give or take a few days. For those still wondering what this game's going to be like, here's a quick sitrep: It's a collectible card game-style PSP strategy game set in the Warhammer universe, with the player being able to collect up to 400 cards in the game's interface. It makes full use of the PSP's wireless gaming capability, allowing players to compete against or trade cards with other human players via this wireless link. For the veteran card gamers out there, this game could be a worth a look. For the beginners curious enough to know what a card game handles like, but can't handle the astronomical costs of making your own custom deck, this might be one for you too - It starts noobs off with a lengthy but comprehensive tutorial, so it shouldn't be too hard for you to get immersed in the fun of collectible card gaming. As for further details, we figured it'll be best to just lest you guys see the screenshots, and see what you think of this title launching on November 14. Enjoy. More screens after the jump! |

Collectible card games has always been something of an acquired taste and they aren't for everyone. Most of the time they are a fad that wears in and out, unless you have a particular interest in the series that is; which is where Warhammer: Battle for Atluma comes in. Namco Bandai's latest game for the PSP follows the popular Warhammer series; it combines the elements of card and strategy - with 400 cards to collect, trade, and use to defeat your opponents. This isn't one of those button bashing games that you can win straight away, veering away from some of the PSPs more cheesy titles and getting into the nitty-gritty gaming. You're either good at strategy games or you're not. However, if you aren't one of these regular Collectible card game gurus but still feel intrigued by this game then read on. It features an extensive tutorial system that helps beginners jump right into the action. Start playing with your friends using the wireless multiplayer gameplay feature which allows players to battle and trade cards with others wirelessly. Today we have the first official screenshots for Warhammer: Battle for Atluma showing the card decks in high resolution PSP beauty. The screenshots look like a merger of Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon cards, and World of Warcraft - a success story in anybody's view. Warhammer: Battle for Atluma is due for release this fall and is available for pre-order now. Enjoy the screenshots! Pre-order: [Warhammer: Battle for Atluma] |

A lot of PSP fans are now kind of iffy about collectible card games. The present trend veers towards strategy games, and if ever there are cards involved, most would be looking after the rewards they can get from card packs they collect. Despite this, Namco Bandai Games keeps its promise. It has just announced that its Warhammer: Battle for Atluma collectible card game will launch officially on the PSP this fall. It combines both the elements of card and strategy -- with 400 cards to collect, trade, and use to defeat your opponents. John Whitmore, Director of Internal/External Development at Namco Bandai believes that the strategic, fast-paced nature of the game will set this game apart from other games in its genre. The game allows the players to enter the Old World and fight against the vast armies of either the Grand Alliance or the evil Hordes of Darkness. The secrets of Atluma will eventually be revealed that will help shape future battles, but the real secret to winning is strategy and wit -- to claim the Atluma Crystal. Namco Bandai gives us a glimpse of the game's features: wireless multiplayer gameplay, "life and death" decisions, custom army deck where players can access 90 different units for combat enhancement, and even an extensive tutorial system for beginners. Quite a promising game, we think, and for those who are into card-strategy combos, expect more updates of this game here at QJ. |
