MotoGP PSP demo now out

Last September 26, Namco Bandai has released one of its titles for the PSP, MotoGP. Having gained good scores from reviews in various gaming sites, the developers have decided to share the love by releasing a demo to the public. So, if you know anyone who hasn't bought the game yet, and you need to convince them so you'd have someone to race with, then just point them to the demo so that they could give it a spin. Please note, however, that the demo runs on 2.81 Firmware.

MotoGP features the entire 2005 roster as your riders, as well as tracks from the actual MotoGP circuit. The game also boasts of realistic bike physics as well as various modes, challenges and galleries to complete and unlock. And if you want some company while you play, MotoGP for the PSP can support up to eight players in ad hoc mode.

So, no need to wait, just download the demo right here and start playing.

MotoGP

Namco Bandai today announced that its PSP version of the long-running motorcycle racing series MotoGP has finally gone gold and will be hitting stores on September 26. This marks the first (and hopefully not the last) time the popular motor sports game hits a handheld console. Aside from customized controls and graphics, this new installment brings with it a host of new features exclusively for the PSP. There's a new 2005 roster, unlockable rewards, and a wireless multiplayer mode that allows up to eight players to race against each other.

Drivers in MotoGP for the PSP include Valentino Rossi, Marco Melandri, Nicky Hayden, Troy Bayliss, Carlos Checa, Alex Barros, Shinya Nakano and others. Also, various additional game modes, riders, movies and more can be unlocked by completing certain challenges. This way, the game should provide hundreds of fun gaming hours and make itself a position on the already impressively big shelf of good PSP racing games.

MotoGP is released next Tuesday, so if you'll be buying it, feel free to leave your thoughts either in the comments section or in the forums.

We haven't heard much from this game since E3 but friendly developers Namco have given IGN a sneak preview of their upcoming PSP title MotoGP. The PS2 racer shows its worth on the PSP, with stunning graphics and a great physics engine with the ability to mimic what you would have played on the PS2 version shows just how much effort has been put into the game, cramming as much as they can on a single UMD to make this live up to the rest of the games in the MotoGP series.

The racing field is filled with other racers, creating an always-hectic race environment, tracks spiral off into the horizon and everything in front of you is still visible despite the somewhat limited power of the PSP compared to it's bigger brother. Of course, due to the way the PSP is laid out the only thing that can go wrong is trying to get the controls to work properly. With only one small analog stick, you cannot accelerate or brake with it but the turning motion is good.

The game will include 50 different challenges, each with its own set of rewards. One challenge might have you beat a single rider at an event, while another may have you navigate a tricky portion of a track at blazing speeds - which we're sure you'll enjoy. For each challenge you complete, you'll earn new bikes, gear, suits or some other goodies to customize your game. The game is due to ship to the US sometime next month.

MotoGP

Although this title was already revealed a while back, Namco Bandai officially announced that MotoGP will be making its way to the PSP in early Fall of 2006. This game features intense single player action with the full 2005 roster. There are plenty of gameplay modes including GP championship, Season mode, or even the gear-grinding One on One challenge. Best of all, this game supports up to eight racers via Wireless Ad Hoc Mode, so you can host high-speed races with a big group of friends.

Back in May, Namco Bandai confirmed MotoGP's foray into portable gaming and it's just about ready to tear up the tracks on the PSP. The game will feature 32 riders and their motorcycles from the 2005 MotoGP season. Eight of the most popular MotoGP circuits will also be featured in the game: Jerez, Estoril, Mugello, Catalunya, Donington, Sachsenring, Brno, and Valencia.

Racing fans can live out the on-track lives of their favorite riders in season mode, while those who prefer to be their very own racing superstar can opt for the standard arcade mode. While that sounds pretty, well, standard, the one feature that we think will appeal the most to PSP gamers is the multiplayer mode for up to eight players. We reckon there's nothing more exhilarating than seeing seven other players try to keep up with you when you go zooming 'round the MotoGP circuits.

MotoGP

It's just been announced that MotoGP will be making its first trip to the PSP. And having played those games before, I know I can expect nice gameplay and great graphics at the same time. MotoGP will let players experience one of the most exhilarating and competitive motor sports in the world – and gives them the chance to take on their friends in thrilling Wireless multiplayer races for up to eight players via Ad Hoc Mode.

The game look kickass. And bike games are almost always great for a bit of pick-up-n-play. I don't see why the PSP version of MotoGP should be any different.

Some Officially Announced Features:
  • Single player thrills and up to eight-way competition via Wireless Ad Hoc Mode
  • The official licence of the MotoGP championship
  • Extensive range of game modes – compete for the championship in Season Mode, or test your mettle against the best in One on One Mode
  • Fast-paced arcade-style racing to excite MotoGP fans and anyone who relishes high-speed competition
Get ready for an intense racing experience with last-minute overtaking and death-defying cornering!
