So the game's been out for the PSP for a month now, and if you've bought Myelin Media's Stacked with David Negreanu but aren't that good a poker player, you're probably losing more often than not. If you'd like a chance to redeem yourself without trading in the UMD for a different game, keep reading. What we've got up for you today is a video featuring the slightly frazzled-looking Daniel Negreanu. Why he looks frazzled in this short clip, we have no idea, but it makes him look like a credible poker professional that way. Instead of laughing at gamers for being poker newbs, he's doing his best to offer an explanation as to why his game is so great, giving gamers some helpful tips in the process. In this video, he'll be telling you that the AI is so advanced that it acts like the Terminator: the poker AI looks at your tactics and adapts to them. One thing you'll notice is just how weird this promo vid is, because he never faces the viewer, leading me to believe the other side of his face is the one he uses for bluffing. If you happen to learn some usable poker skills from studying this quick vid and using it in the game, win some big money in a real casino and split the cash with us! Oh, and for those fellows who mentioned the rather glaring mistake in the previous article, don't worry! We strapped Chris L. to a seat and forced him to watch all of the promotional videos with Daniel Negreanu in them over the course of a weekend. He is now cured of narcolepsy as thoughts of Negreanu spin perpetually in his head. Cheers. Download: [Stacked with David Negreanu's Promo Vid] |

It's now available: Stacked with David Negreanu for the PSP. We've been tracking the progress of this game for quite a bit of time now, screenshots and all, but Myelin Media LLC and MTV announce now that the PSP game has now officially been launched, shipped, and made available for purchase in-store and online. The two big draws of Stacked are its AI and its PS2-PSP interoperability. The AI's tweaked to learn and remember your moves, and as you progress through the game, it will slowly and selectively use this knowledge to hit you where it hurts the most. Oh sure, the game goes easy at first - what game doesn't? - but beware the hustle the AI may try to pull on you later in the game. It pays to keep on your toes, changing your game every time. The AI's also tweaked to the play styles of the pro poker players you'll face in the single-player game, up to the bug man himself, David Negreanu. Be glad he's also handling the in-game tutorial sessions. Now with the PS2-PSP interoperability, you can choose to sync your PSP and PS2 profiles, and you can choose to face off against other PS2 and PSP Stacked card sharks in the MTV-sponsored online match-ups. And at the top of the game, the Stacked Masters Showdown Tournaments, the pro players you see on the online table may be the pros themselves - no kidding, says the official website. Good luck with them when you see them. Stacked with David Negreanu for the PSP is available at the usual major retailers now. Buy: [Stacked with Daniel Negreanu] |

Here's the lowdown on all the PSP releases for this week, beginning July 17th. This list includes both UMD movies and UMD games. UMD movies you say? Yes, despite UMD movies coming off the shelves of most popular stores, somebody was still foolhardy enough to release a UMD movie title this week. Check them out: UMD Game releases: UMD Movie releases:

Myelin Media have today announced the details for the upcoming MTV Stacked Masters Showdown Tournament, an online event for players of the PSP poker game Stacked with Daniel Negreanu. This tournament is already attracting the attention of top Texas Hold 'Em players, who will be fighting their way top the top of the multi-table tournament. The top four brilliant, your just damn right lucky players that get through will face world-famous poker player Daniel Negreanu at the final table in Las Vegas, with highlights from the event being shown on MTV in the MTV Stacked Masters Showdown Grand Finale Special. Players can earn placement on the leader board by accumulating Masters Points by playing in official Stacked Masters Showdown Tournaments. The number of points players can win in a tournament depends on the stakes of that particular game. The buy in amount for each level will reflect the level of skill for players who can enter – the higher the level, the greater the buy in amount. The lower level tournaments will be held more frequently than the higher level tournaments giving everyone a chance to play and build their bankrolls; so you don't have to be a pro player to get pretty far! Obviously, in order to compete you have to register on the MTV stacked website. Players will then have to log in to their account no more than one hour prior to the start time. See the full playing schedule after the jump! Visit: [Official MTV Stacked Website] |

Stacked is finally going to be released this May after being delayed for several months now. This game is going to use the AI system ported over from Poki Bot which is a simulation software developed at the University of Alberta. The AI system of this poker game acts decently, being able to sit tight even with a good hand. The main game is the Battle Born Casino which requires the gamer to first win in a multi-table public game and a multi-table invitational before qualifying for the multi-table championship. During the game, the player has the option to ask Daniel Negreanu for general tips or pro tips in playing your hand. Outside of this main game is a series of Poker School instructional videos that feature Daniel sharing tips and advices on how to play the game and win. A really good thing about Stacked for PSP is that it's also compatible with the PS2, so a PSP gamer can play with others who are using a PS2 online. |
