I know what your thinking - another Golf game for the PSP? Well, your wrong. Oxygen Interactive have decided to change the name of World Tour Golf for the PSP to ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007. The name change comes after gaming circles have applauded the game's groundbreaking control mechanic, ProStroke, which will make it one of the most realistic Golf games out there compared to whats already on the market. Oxygen Interactive felt the name change will suit a more worldwide audience, as World Tour Golf was a more European title. Although it may cause temporary confusion, Oxygen Interactive are confident in their choice and know that as in sport they must play to their strengths. Oxygen's CEO Jim Scott said: 'Continuing with a generic name that had started as a working title short-changed the game. Pro Stroke Golf, on the other hand, puts the game's greatest feature right into the title, and makes it clear why this is the most interesting golf title this decade.'

Game Publishers Oxygen Interactive have released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming game for the PSP Xbox, PC and PS2 titled World Tour Golf today. World Tour Golf will compete against other popular golf titles such as Hotshots Golf: Open Tee that is already available for the PSP, and so will have to produce something completely different to it's rival in order to win over portable golf fans. The trailer shows off some very cool graphics, probably taken from the PC and Xbox versions as well as the great GUI that the game will use. It boasts the games use of championship courses from all around the world and the inclusion of popular Golf players such as Ben Curtis and Zhang Lian-Wei. The trailer has 1 minute and 30 seconds of pure action and graphical beauty. Don't get me wrong, the graphics obviously won't be as crisp as this trailer shows, but it'll be as close as you can get to fulfill your portable Golfing needs. Perfect your technique - Join the Tour! Download: [World Tour Golf Teaser Trailer] |

Three more World Tour Golf Superstars joined the roster of World Tour Golf for PSP. Adding their superstar power to Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose are Colin Montgomerie, Ben Curtis and Zhang Lian-Wei. Colin Montgomerie turned professional in 1988, and was named the Rookie of the Year on the European Tour. He quickly developed into one of Europe's top pros, making his Ryder Cup debut in 1991. He finished first on the European Tour Order of Merit every year from 1993 to 1999 and has thirty victories on the tour, including the 1998, 1999, and 2000 European PGA Tour Championships Zhang Lian-Wei, the Yao Ming of golf, is the most successful golfer so far produced by mainland China. He worked as a caddie and won the China Amateur Open Championship three times before turning pro in 1994 winning a number of events in China, the Asian Tour and one event in Canada. He is first Chinese golfer to win the prestigious European Tour and the first Chinese golfer ranked in top 100 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Ben Curtis won The Open Championship (British Open) of 2003 - a major upset for the upstart. The 2003 Open Championship was Curtis' first appearance in a major and became only the second golfer to win his major championship debut. World Tour Golf will also be available on PS2 Xbox and PC.

The developers of World Tour Golf, Oxygen Interactive has announced the first two international golfers that are to be included in its multi-platform Golf game for the PSP, PS2 Xbox and PC. I'm not an avid Golf fan but I have heard of world-renowned players Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose. Players will be able to take on the likes of these two and many more international golfers in the next big golfing game to hit the UMD format. To celebrate the announcement of Sergio and Justin's appearance in the game, Oxygen Interactive has released a set of new screenshots that show them at their best. Remember to use the new gallery feature to make viewing these images easier! As far as golfing graphics for the PSP go, this game looks like a corker. And as long as the gameplay lives up to the standard of the graphics, it's sure to score a hole in one!
