PlayStation Portable homebrew developer califrag seems to have something good going on; after skyPSP which can turn your PSP into an actual webcam, comes an app that lets your handheld recognize a laser pointer's movements. The concept is still fresh, but just imagine what eyePSP can do in the near future. Download: eyePSP demo |

Can u say mini wii?
Yes, I can say it: "mini wii!" lol :P
but. yes, great point. We could eventually make a portable wii of sorts. But hey, I was wondering this: what if we made a simple add-on for the PSP that'd take the yellow video in wire that most electronics use? That way, we'd have a portable TV of sorts for our video games! I mean think about it: if we can do TV out, why not Line-in?
Then, we can take our Wii or GameCube, or even PS3 anywhere with us, and as long as there's just one power outlet, we'd be able to play our consoles anywhere! Of course, the add on would naturally need to come with a PSP mount stand (so that if you're playing with friends, everyone can see). Also, for long periods of time, you'd need to bring the psp charger, but hey, that'd be really cool, and I promise that EVERYONE would want one! I mean think about it: everything'd be portable. DVD players, Xboxes, Wiis, even Tivos :P
All you'd do is drop your console in a bookbag, and put the PSP in your pocket, and you're an instant video gamer magnet :P
That "simple addon" would amount to something very expensive. The PSP doesn't natively support the type of video coming in through that cable, you would need a device to convert the video format to something supported by the PSP on the fly.
Not to mention that it would require opening your PSP and probably soldering a few things.
Better off to just get a portable dvd player with a video in port. They're cheaper and have a larger screen.
Hey califrag you know anything about smart nav? its the same thing. but its for PC. I would love to see this same thing on PSP. It uses reflective dots to do the same things.I have a hat for that that has a reflective dot sewn into itself.
Can you say duck hunt? With this, you could have sort of a duck hunt/ area 51 homebrew going on. It would be sooo sweet.
Very creative idea. Good work.
It's nice to see some truly innovative homebrew idea's still going on.
Long live the PSP scene (without the morons obviously).
This is pretty freakin' tight.
man i cant wait till they release some homebrew games for this or sumthing
I can't wait till the chotto shot is like $10. $40 is still too expensive for me :(
Damn! gonna try this w/ my chotto. too bad i ain't got no laser pointer around here.
It even works in ur hand. try it! hehe
This idea has so much potential. I hope it is developed further.
jUSt like the Eyetoy on PS2.. Devs please make a game with this. ; )
This won't work with 3.40 OE-A. :(
