Developer sAnDiX has decided to drop by and tell us that he's got a new update to his homebrew file browser for the PlayStation Portable with flash 0.5xp. This newest build includes some neat Graphical updates with a specific Microsoft Windows flavor dashed into it.

This versatile homebrew app is essentially a run of the mill file browser that can look your handheld's flash0, flash1 and ms0 slots. As an added bonus, it can also enter USB mode and browse through your memory stick.

The current build now includes a background which gives the browser a nice Windows XP look. The developer mentions that he also plans to create on with a Mac OSX theme in a future update.

flash 0.5xp is coded using Lua so make sure that you install the app in the appropriate folders. You can download this neat app through QJ.NET's download section, accessible through the link below. For more information, you can also visit our PSP Development Forums and discuss the app with the author.

That's not XPish at all. Make it look like explorer with file icons and ad-hoc file sending

I agree, give it a windows explorer look with
the directory + subdirectory pane on the left
of the current open folder on the right.

If you want it to look like XP, use XP's theme
for the windows explorer skin, hell you could
even use the vista theme skin on the thing.

Thats more original than placing the
"XP screen saver" as the background and
calling it "Windows XP Look".

Thanks anyway though, I've seen better
functional file browsers for the PSP than this.

Keep trying to code though, one day you'll
make something alot of people will praise.

good luck
