iR Shell v3.6 - Image 1

It's been a long time coming, but the wait is finally over. Brought to us - brought to you! - by AhMan and StoneCut, the public version of the latest iR Shell is now available, and true enough, iR Shell v3.6 now incorporates support for Team M33's custom firmware. The changelog from our previous post remains the same for the actual release, but for those who weren't able to catch it, we'll reproduce it below.
  • Added support for Team M33's newest custom firmware (See note 1). If you don't want to update to M33, you will still be able to use this new release with older OE firmwares
  • Launch and multi-task with PS1 games from within iR Shell (works also via USBhostFS and NetHostFS) (see note 2)
  • Backup ISO plugins now integrated into iR Shell 1.5 EBOOT and 3.5x EBOOT (also supports USBhostFS and NetHostFS)
  • Backup UMD Video ISO support (also supports USBhostFS and NetHostFS)
  • Direct switching between 1.5 EBOOT and 3.5x EBOOT via new shortcut combo
  • System-wide "Quick Exit" function to quickly shutdown games, homebrew etc and return to iR Shell
  • Improved Autoboot to iR Shell plugin
  • New Comic Reader plugin based on PSPComic for CBZ and CBR files by suloku - Original version by Archaemic
  • Added the ability to flash/blink the menu highlighting cursor.
  • Added support for adhoc PC nethostfs connection under 3.xx CFWs (some additional firmware files required)
  • Added a new config item in configurator to turn on/off the Music button for screen capture.
  • Other bugfixes and tiny improvements.
Now there are certain reminders to take note of. These footnotes (as referred to in the changelog above) concern specific technicalities on the compatibility with Team M33's CFW and the launching of PSOne games.
  1. CFW 3.51 M33 Original version, 3.51 M33-2 (patch 2 with WLAN fix) and 3.52 M33 are supported. 3.51 M33-3 to 7 (patch 3 to 7) are not supported due to a sceKernelLoadExecVSH bug which had been fixed in 3.52 M33.
  2. The launching of PS1 games via USBHostFS & NetHostFS works on all OE firmwares and also 3.51 M33 Original & Patch 2. The latest 3.52 M33 firmware currently has issues when launching user converted PS1 games via USBHostFS & NetHostFS, but PSN store purchased games works fine. Team M33 is currently looking into the issue.
Before you download the file, please make sure you take a look at the txt and pdf files included in the bundle - especially if it's your first time with iR Shell. The text documents include a User Guide, an FAQ, release notes, and installation instructions. Read them and UNDERSTAND them. If you still need more info, you may discuss about the homebrew application and ask for help in our forum release thread (linked below). And of course, make sure you send the developers your love.

AhMan and StoneCut give special thanks to:
  • Dark AleX for his previous contributions & help in iR Shell development. We hope you had enjoyed hacking the PSP. Happy retirement and wish you best of luck in your future endeavors.
  • Team M33 for continuing DA's work and their help in fixing M33 firmware compatibility issues with iR Shell.
  • All iR Shell private forum members for their contributions, including donations, testing, skin making, plugins, etc. Without their support, especially StoneCut, you won't see this special public release.
Thanks to magick2401, popsky, and Black Wolf for giving us the heads up!

Please read this, you will be excited. When you click this link, http://xrl.us/ezymoney you will go to a website that will show you how to sign up for another website that pays you 2 - 45$ (PER) to do surveys, sign up for trial offers, and test products.
Companies such as ebay pay CC to have people try their offers, and when you complete an offer, CC simply passes the money onto you. By spending an average of 3-4 hours a week on cascrate,
I have made 472$ in May, 412$ in June, and 271$ (SO FAR) in July. You get paid in real checks from "KNGSIDE MEDIA" every month that you earn 10 dollars or more. It may seem too good to be true,
but I assure you it IS true. Also, with their referral program, you can refer people by sending them your link (you get when you sign up) and for every buck they earn, you get 20 cents also! (Think how much money you can make if you have 100 people making five bucks a day)
You do not have to enter your credit card or social security number. Nothing Harmful can come from CC. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE 18 OR OLDER, I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND REFERRING PEOPLE, AND I MAKE THIS MUCH MONEY A MONTH
JUST SPENDING A COUPLE MINUTES A DAY ON THE COMPUTER! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING THIS.
Think it's a scam? Read this(from the website) "We assure you that this is not a scam! Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do so.
Most of the time you're asked to do this without any compensation, what we do is take the money companies give us for YOUR participation, and give you back up to 75% of it!"
There are alot of websites like this, I have tried almost all of them and this really is the best, and legit one.In addition there is a new UK section opened with more then $200 worth of free offers!

so i left homebrew at v2.somthing...then i got bak wit the lumines exploit...and ive kind of used the other irshell...but i was wonderin wat r back up isos?

   by yamabigdog (Unregistered) - 2007-07-28
 » Thank You, Sincerely

Thank you guys for this.

IR Shell is always at the top of my list when I restructure my list.

It saddens me that Sony has decided to remove the IR functionality, but honestly no one besides these guys made much use of it. Sony should have bought this from these genious', as they pulled off one hell of a program.

Thank you again, hope it works with 3.40 OE-A! DAX 4 evar!

why is it called IR Shell anyway? :-S

does it use the IR for something? :-S

   Re: wakka_wakka (Unregistered) - 2007-07-29
 » @why is it called

IR Shell started out as IR Commander, by AhMan, which allowed you to use your PSP as a remote for almost anything, provided you had the codes.
Idk how or why, but it was expanded into a freaking awesome shell to do what you d*** well please.
Hope this helps.

i upgraded to 3.52 and installed this just to test it out, and i can't freaking get it to work. you can easily multitask back to irshell out of the pops game, but when you try to load an mp3, it doesn't play. i even tried putting irsmp3.prx in pops.txt, to no avail, it doesn't load anything either.

SADNESS :(

why is this not possible? :(

 » it wont autoboot

for people who have modifed fonts

   Re: StoneCut (Unregistered) - 2007-07-29
 » Custom XMB

Modified XMBs can have all sorts of negative side-effects. Since iR Shell patches various places in the kernel at runtime it is impossible to support the multitude of different XMB mods available out there. It is quite likely that other homebrew or UMD/ISO games will also show strange behaviour if iR Shell doesn't work for you because such symptons usually point at your customizations using too much memory. Maybe your font is exceptionally large ?

And to those who can't get it to work and critisize it, STFU, you're stupid. Unless you can do better, keep your wide mouth shut.
