Monster Hunter Freedom 2

Just last week we got news that a big name PSP game, a sequel to a wildly popular franchise would be announced, speculation in the comments seemed to lean heavily to the idea that it would be either Gran Turismo Mobile, or the next Grand Theft Auto. I suppose it depends on just how much you love the Monster Hunter series, but you if you were expecting either of those games (I was rooting for Crisis Core myself) you might as well prepare to be somewhat disappointed.

The latest issue of Japanese gaming mag, Famitsu announces to the world the arrival of Monster Hunter Freedom 2, (or Monster Hunter Portable 2 in Japan) the first game was huge over there, selling by the truckload, and appears to have been relatively well received in the West as well. We understand that the new game will feature snow covered levels as well as new weapons and items (surely all these are to be expected). While we don't just yet have 100% confirmation, it also appears as though the new game will finally support an oft pined for infrastructure multiplayer mode that will allow gamers to finally go monster hunting with pals.

More news as we get it.

 » This MH 2

Any hardcore fan would know that this is exactly what they've been waiting for, but now they can take it everywhere. This based off of Monster Hunter 2 for the PS2. Don't believe? Go to Gamespot and look it up. I for one, am very excited.

 » Infrastructure!!!

The only thing that disapointed me of MHF was that it didnt have infrastructure. If MHF2 has it, i'm going to get this game as soon as it ships.

 » Seriously...

If you were expecting anything like GTA or another Syphon Filter then you are little slow. Famitsu is strictly a japanese mag and those games are not japanese. If it was GTA or Syphon or anything non-japanese it would be annouced via an american or european mag.

 » MH for PS2

If the online portion of MHF2 is like MH for PS2 it would rock.

#7 is *****ing at the people asking for infastructure in MH2 who obvioulsly didnt know that the first one has it already. however you dont need xlink to use it, just go to the online town hall thing. its only for the treasure hunting missions though i think

Get your facts straight before trying to sound smart. "Online Hall" was Ad-hoc mode. Idiot.

Common sense. This "big news" originated from Famitsu, a Japanese publication. Of course they'll announce a big-name Japanese game and not some rehashed crap from the US.

 » MHF

Personally I think the game is kinda boring after awhile and unless in this one there is a freakin target system then I might be interested

 » Are you serioius?!?

This is the big title we were waiting for??? MONSTER HUNTER?? Are you F%($@n kidding me??? WOW this is just absurd. Does anybody actually play this game. I thought we were gonna get big news like GT, or Resident Evil or Half-life or something. This is just a complete letdown.

» that game sucks monkey balls

MHF was a joke game, nothing but doing the same thing over 100,000,000,000,000 time. How can people stand that game. Tried it and got bored within the first 20 minutes

"Just last week we got news that a big name PSP game, a sequel to a wildly popular franchise would be announced."

Can any of you people read? A sequel will be announced. How can you count Gran Turismo Mobile or GTA:LCS as a sequel?

» Why do so many bash MH?

Honestly why are so many of you bashing the game, Just becuase its an rpg that has no levels? does that make it lame? no. Is it becuase it has no targeting system AND REQUIRES SKILL TO PLAY, i should hope not. The gamers of today are beign spoiled with the targetign systems of games and the auto aiming systems.

Play some Counterstrike and tell me how you aim there lol.

Monster hunter has held my interest longer then ALOT of games. On the PS2 i have logged 89 hours, and on the psp i have logged 140 hours. I'm just about to finish up my 4 star quests offline. The item creation system in my opinion is both easy to use and highly effective.

So yea, seriously stop knocking on a great game.

i agree that gran turismo isnt a sequel but vice city could count as a sequel to the last gta game on psp..

and i agree that it is a let down after so much hype i was expecting a real big game but instead this..

I was really hoping for SE to pull thru.

The load times weren't even that bad...The game is great, lasts so long. People have to bash and not understand it sold very well in Japan.
