SodR, creator of UMDTool, has come up with a new homebrew application 'Pimp my PSP'. Pimp my PSP is an application that flashes the PSP in order to 'pimp' your firmware. It changes as your font, bootsounds, background and menu names to look more pimpish.

This application is completely different to specialist firmware modification tools such as X-Flash, as it only comes with one theme - "The Pimpin' theme". Don't worry if your not happy with what West Coast customs have done to your PSP, you can simply use the 'unpimper' option included in this application.

Requirements:
  • 1.5 PSP
  • USB cable
  • Memo' stick
  • Hand to push the 'X' button ( needed to start and install the program )
  • The will to Pimp your PSP!

Although it has been tested to work on 1.5 PSPs, this program does flash your PSP, and with any program that writes to flash, It could brick your PSP.

Delete that comment please. Also, it is too bad that I currently have 2.0, for games like GTA.

Do these graphics looks like Pimp My Garage?

Well, i have custom firmware already, 2.0 bootscreen and an xbox 360 bootsound. Will this work on my psp, i think ill dump my firmware and MPH it with this pimp thing if i can get what it flashes without flashing first.

It's okay but some suggestions:

1) NO wavy lines
2) Bigger font (cant read some bits)
3)ill think of something

» Not a bad idea, but....

Would be even better if they offered more themes than "pimpin" . Like medieval, Goth, Sci-Fi , etc. I like the idea that some are making these homebrew so others can customize their PSPs though. If they get stolen, it'd make it easier to find em I would think ( along with the serial number, I guess:P...lol).

To Jabberwocky, it's your fault did you not read the bold headed line "This COULD brick your psp"

   by me (Unregistered) - 2006-04-30
 » it wont brick

its wont brick if u know what ur doing,
and there will never be a 'safe' way of doing this because is flashes to the firmware so theres always the risk of briking.

i have used this and its fine (but i dont like it)
