PSP - Image 1

Here's another bit of homebrew news that's Sony PlayStation Portable-flavored. It's the latest update of pspME, as rolled out by homebrew developer M@x. As we all know, pspME is a PSP port of the SUN open-source JaveME implementation named phoneME, and this version has some pretty neat improvements from the last one.

Here's what to expect with version 0.2:
  • Jpeg support
  • MIDI support. Only one MIDI player can be started at same time.
There's a bit of a catch, though. As M@x says, only one MIDI player can be started, and as of this version there is no sample sound support. It also slows down the VM speed when music is playing, and the music takes a while to start playing itself. But when it does, it does alright. Be sure to read the documentation first before doing anything.
