Resident PSP homebrew coder pspballer07 passed by the QJ.Net Forum earlier to announce the release of a developer's tool the coders here may fancy. It's the PSP C++ IDE v0.8 homebrew application, a PC-based Development Environment designed to help make coding in C++ easier. This application uses -MANIAC-'s Syntax Highlighter DLL for its syntax, and comes with these features:

First, the good news. PSP homebrew developer -MANIAC- has announced that he's releasing the source codes for his LUA IDE. The source codes available are from the application's April 8, 2007 release, which implies that it's for version 0.8. Second, the bad news. -MANIAC- is also letting everybody know that he has decided to leave his LUA Development Studio project, and there may be just one final version of this application coming out in the near future. The silver lining to this move is that he has also announced that he's now working on a C/C++ version of the same application, dubbed the C/C++ Development Studio. The screenshots above should indicate his progress with this new project. Guys who think they can continue his past project are welcome to download the source code below. It's under the GNU Public License - downloaders are strongly advised to view the README and GNU license text files first. There's also -MANIAC-'s release thread over at the QJ.Net Forums, which should provide for discussions on his new work. We wish him luck on his latest endeavor, and thank him for giving us the heads-up on this release. Download: LUA IDE source code Visit: QJ's PSP Development Forum |

PSP homebrew developer -Maniac- has posted an update for his PSP LUA Software Studio application. This latest update brings the current version up to 0.8. Just like the first release, there's no readme file included in the download, but please remember to extract everything in the archive before you run the application. Here are some of the most important changes that are in release 0.8:

If you love the application PSP Studio Max, then you will be delighted to know that homebrew developer Re_AnimAte just gave the program a - how shall we put it? - mega update. In fact, the coder mentioned that he can't list all the changes for this release simply because there are so many of them.
To give you an idea, PSP Studio Max is a shell for another application PSP Game Maker. Now, the mega updated version was done with the help of another coder, -MANIAC-, and will need Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 to run. Don't worry about that last one, though, as we've provided the download link to that as well. We've mentioned that there have been a lot of changes to PSP Studio Max MegA Update but it seems that Re_AnimAte is quite fond of a few, as he says, One thing's for sure though. The coding bit is 95% complete (the other 5% for extra add ons i may want to put in. LOL!). I've also removed the cmd prompt and had the error list print to a text box rather then a cmd screen I'm working on visual programming now and will start on making themes and music for it. Try this out and tell me what you think! As always, the file is accompanied by a Readme file where all needed information can be found so be sure not to skip that. Okay? It seems that there's an on-going friendly competition between two homebrew developers over at the QJ Forums. A couple of days ago, Re_AnimAte released a version of the application known as The PSP Game Maker. In a nutshell, PSP Game Maker is a working compiler and tester for Lua games made in C#.Now, coder -MANIAC- dropped by our forums today and told us about the competition. According to him, Re_AnimAte mentioned that he should create a new compiler and they'll see which one is better. And so he came up with The New PSP Game Maker. Well, this is just the GAMMA version though, which is a full two steps behind the BETA release. Just the same, give the app a look and tell us which one you guys actually prefer, just to help our two coders decide on who will be declared the winner of their contest. If you're interested, there are just a few reminders that you have to keep in mind before using this:
