So, you've read the manga, loved the anime and got hooked on the games, but are you ready to see Son Goku and his friends take on the big screen? 20th Century Fox surely is.According to Canadian news site Canada.com, 20th Century Fox has given the go-ahead to three major film productions, one of them being a live-action movie based on Akira Toriyama's brainchild. The movie will reportedly have a budget of no less than US$ 100 million, and will begin production soon with no details as to when it's projected to be shown. The Dragon Ball Z franchise is considered as one of the most popular literary franchises in the world, with deals encompassing print, TV, video games, clothing and toys. Let's hope that this project yields results that will give justice to the legendary series. We'd love to see how the actors will go Super Saiyan on us. |

We have no idea how they're planning to do it, but 20th Century Fox looks set on bringing Electronic Arts' popular Sims franchise to the big screen. According to Variety, Fox has acquired the rights to The Sims and will be making a live-action movie based on it."The Sims has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it," said Sims Studio head Rod Humble. "Given that that's an old story, you can imagine how easily that would translate to traditional story telling." Humble will be managing the creative property for Electronic Arts while Steve Asbell is overseeing the project for Fox. The script will reportedly be handled by Brian Lynch, who also penned Scary Movie 3 and the upcoming Big Helium Dog. The story is still under wraps and talents have yet to be associated with the project. |

"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" from 20th Century Fox and Marvel Comics is the sequel to the 2005 movie Fantastic Four. The actors reprise their roles and new faces will grace the series. Silver Surfer and Nova debuts in this movie. In the trailer, we see an uber cool aerial chase between the Human Torch and the Silver Surfer. Since we still need to do some waiting to do for the actual movie (US release is June 15), you can watch the trailer at the link below. The trailer is available for download for the PSP, iPod Video, and Zune, among other portable video players. The Silver Surfer is an intergalactic herald for Galactus, a powerful being who devours worlds. He arrives on Earth and does so in the worst of times - during Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Sue Storm's (Invisible Woman) wedding. That's the least of their problems as their arch nemesis Dr. Doom returns to do what normal villains do: get revenge and laugh maniacally. |

Sega's apparently caught the UFO bug. Just after announcing their plans to produce a game lineup following 20th Century Fox's "Aliens" franchise, they once again revealed the planned release of another classic alien title.Alien Syndrome, one of Sega's old classics, is currently in production under the Totally Games studio. It should be ready for release by as early as the summer of '07. For the non-retro gamers, the game's an old action-rpg arcade title Sega released back in 1987, and allowed you to play as soldiers Ricky and Mary. This time around, the game puts you in the controls of Aileen Harding (Elaine Ripley knockoff?), as she blasts her way through the game's varying environments using a combination of weapons (20 in total) and character skills. The game's expected to make full use of the Wiimote's motion-sensing capability. But aside from the usual activity of using it to fight their way through threats, players can expect the Wiimote to be used for more delicate tasks, such as upgrading gear, or hacking computers. PSP owners on the other hand can expect the game to make use of the portable's Wi-Fi- capability. This allows up to four players to join in the game's fun, though expect more goodies to be announced as the game goes through its production phases. "Completely re-designed from the ground up for the PSP and the Wii, this new Alien Syndrome offers a refreshing blast-athon on a venerable classic," said Totally Games' President and Creative Director, Larry Holland. "As well, it has allowed us to exercise our science fiction chops to the fullest to create a totally involving futuristic action-RPG game experience." |

A month after the fantasy/adventure game Eragon was launched for the Xbox 360, the PSP and the PC, 20th Century Fox is then releasing its movie version on the second week of December. Now, the movie seems to be looking good. But what about the video game?
For those of you have yet to grab a copy of the game for your platform of choice, maybe this Xbox 360 gameplay vid just might get you to deciding fast. We have here for you the Hack n Slash vid, and truth be told, it seems just as intriguing and fascinating as the original story from author Christopher Paolini. With just the right amount of mystical fight actions, along with spells and potions, this game was meant to be hot in more ways than one. You can also download the gameplay right here.
