Even when the buzz about Bioshock (Xbox 360, PC) has pretty much lowered down to a low (but still audible) hum, its ability to win accolades and win critics over has not waned the slightest. We see this in action via this year's Game Audio Awards, an outfit that gives recognition to the games that sounded just right. How many awards did Bioshock get in this one, you ask? Try eight. All the details in the full article. |

The results are in for GameFly's most requested games for the week ending September 7. Last week's "All platforms" chart sees Midway Games' Stranglehold overtaking 2K Games' Bioshock, which has sunk to fourth place. Second in the list is Electronic Art's (EA) Medal of Honor: Airborne, with Bungie Studio's Halo 3 sitting comfortably at third. Meanwhile, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare caps the list at number five. As some readers may have noticed, last week's most wanted has effectively been dominated by 360 titles. You may also notice below that the 360-specific chart is exactly the same as the "All platforms" chart. For the other top picks in their specific platform chart, we have Nintendo's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption going strong as the most wanted for the Wii console, with Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword making its cut as the PlayStation 3's top pick. For the portables, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass holds first place for the DS; Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is currently the PSP's most wanted game. |

2K Games' BioShock is still riding waves of success, being top pick for various gamers around the world. The Swedish are no exception either, for the first-person shooter from 2K Games Boston and Australia steals number one spot for their all platforms chart - well the Xbox 360 version, that is. It also managed to squeeze through four popular PC, MMO games in the region, which include NCSoft's Guild Wars expansion Eye of the North, Creative Assembly's Medieval II: Total War expansion Kingdoms, and Blizzard Entertainment's two-hit combo - World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - in that order from second to fifth. BioShock's Games for Windows version settled into sixth place, while Insomniac Games' Resistance: Fall of Man and Revolution Studios' Motorstorm also found a place in the top ten titles, having grabbed a solid seventh and eighth respectively. Counter-Strike 1: Anthology from Valve Software at ninth closed the PC game count to six in PC-dominated charts, while PS2 title Guitar Hero 2: Rock the 80's from RedOctane concluded the top ten games. In essence, Guild Wars: Eye of the North topped the PC list, Resistance: Fall of Man trumped the PS3 list, BioShock rocked the Xbox 360 chart, and Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess was king of the Wii mountain. In the handheld scene, Nintendo's Pokemon Diamond was favored in the DS list, while WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2007 from THQ crushed competition in the PSP chart. Here's the top ten in the Swedish multi-format charts:

Recently, we reported that the upcoming video game from Firaxis and 2K Games, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, is going to be released on multiple platforms. It's currently scheduled for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, DS, and Wii next year. Why was the PlayStation Portable left out? Eurogamer was able to get a statement from Firaxis' Barry Caudill about the PSP version of Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution - or the lack of it. According to Caudill, they left Sony's handheld out simply because they were short on resources since they will be doing all the other versions in-house. He also explained that the Nintendo Wii version will be slightly delayed since they "could free up enough guys to do it, but we don't have enough guys to then do a PSP version as well". Caudill added: It's not like we're dissing the platform - I use a PSP. We put Pirates out on it, or rather we had Full Fat do it. But see this one, the difference here is we're doing all of these in-house and so for PSP we may have to - if it was going to come out in a timely fashion - we may have to farm it out. But right now we're just doing all these in-house and that's the official word That's about it folks. We'll give you more updates on Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution once they become available, in the meantime, stay tuned. |

We've got some artwork for the upcoming Sid Meier game called Civilization Revolution. The master of strategy games takes his new title for a multi-platform run and we couldn't be more excited. Firaxis Games is working with 2K Games to make all the platforms viable ones for Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution. At this point, they're relatively mum on details except for the announcement that it will ship for all platforms involved next spring. Judging from these screens, the devs will maintain some elements of the previous games in the series such as growth and development of technology. Much speculation can be made as to how the controls will be for consoles and what kind of engine the game will employ. Civilizations Revolution is certainly a game to watch out for and we'll update you as soon as more info is on the table. |

This could very well be a groundbreaking announcement for strategy fans on all platforms, or at least for fans of Sid Meier. It's just been announced that the Civilization series will be taking a step into new territory in the form of Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, which will be made for the console and handheld platforms. Firaxis Games will be developing Civilization Revolution, with 2K Games taking care of publishing the title. If you're wondering what's going to be new with this game, look out: Some of the key features that will resonate with fans of strategy games and the Civilization franchise include 16 civilizations to master and lead to victory, an array of famous historical leaders to play as or compete against, and accessible maps and streamlined time scale for quicker games, intense combat, and constant action. In online multiplayer mode, players will compete for world conquest and glory among their peers as they battle in teams, head-to-head or epic free-for-all matches. In addition, auto-matching, ranked games, leaderboards, achievements, downloadable extra content and integrated video and voice chat make the online play more versatile and fun than any previous version of Civilization and will allow players to see where they stand against the competition. Finally, the position of ruler of the world can be settled online. No word on where the game will be made playable, but there's a good chance we'll be seeing it on all the consoles. We'll have more on this when we hear of it. In the meantime, let us know how you think Civilization should be handled on the platform of your liking. |

As part of its restructuring program, Take-Two will be closing down its 2K Games New York office. "The 2K New York office will be closed as part of the consolidation of the label's management and other functional operations on the West Coast," said Ed Nebb, public relations advisor for Take-Two, who also declined to reveal the actual number of employees who will be laid off. Nebb also emphasized, It's important to note that the goal of the reorganisation is not merely cost-efficiency, but about allowing Take-Two to do what it does best - create great, best-selling games. Neb also revealed that Take-Two has dropped several titles in development planned for release next year. "We have extensively reviewed the products in our pipeline," Nebb said. "While we are comfortable with the economic assumptions underlying most of the titles, we did write off several products in development that were planned for release beyond fiscal 2007." Major titles for Q3 and Q4 2007, such as like LA Noire and Beaterator however, are safe. |

A lot of players were really hurt when they announced that the E3 was going to be closed to the public. For those who are still harboring a grudge,
feel free to skip over this article. For those who are interested
though, IGN was recently able to get a hold of a listing of games that
will be featured in the said event.A lot of the companies still haven't announced the games that they will be showcasing in this year's E3. However, quite a few of the big name developers have already announced their offerings. Of course this is still a preliminary list and more will be added as the days go by. Anyway, here we have the list of companies who will be attending but haven't announced any games yet then the confirmed games that will be showcased in the E3. Now excuse this blogger as he goes to a corner and cry out my frustration at not being able to go this event. Companies who haven't announced games yet:

A little background on Ghost Rider: He was a normal stunt driver named Johnny Blaze who made a pact with a demon named Zarathos to save someone he cared about (no spoilers here). We believe that Ghost Rider is one of the most awesome Marvel characters around. He rides a flaming bike, swings a flaming chain, and his head's a flaming skull. What more could you ask for in a superhero? Anyway, in conjunction with the movie release, the guys at 2K have released the video game on PS2, PSP, and GBA. So what can we expect from the video game? He will be able to ride around in his flaming motorcycle while bashing enemies with his chain. In addition, he will have his trademark Penance Stare (He has the power to make the criminals feel the emotional pain that they inflict on their victims). The game will have a pseudo-rpg feel to it considering you can upgrade his Hell Cycle and Ghost Rider himself. Ghost Rider has been rated “T“ for Teen. It is now available for US$ 29.99 for the PlayStation 2 system and the PSP system, while it'll sell for US$ 19.99 for the Game Boy Advance. |
